VCU Regionals Videos

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave your client open for a few hours after the download is finished! You can watch the video while it's open, so share your bounty with others. I can't feed the whole world's appetite!

At the risk of swamping my machine, I've recorded and edited many of the qualification matches from the VCU regionals today. You must use a BitTorrent client to download them and I'd appreciate as many other seeds staying online as possible for a while.

You can find BitTorrent clients at www.BitTorrent.com. I like Azureus at Azureus.sourceforge.net or BitTornado at www.BitTornado.com.

Once you have a client installed, browse over to my tracker at http://ldeffenb.dnsalias.net:30049 and pull a .torrent or two. Be warned, I do *not* have a high-speed outbound connection but the more clients that are simultaneously downloading, the faster you will all go.

Additionally, if you can leave your client open for a day or two (or even several hours) after the download is finished, you'll assist in sharing the file (and *ONLY* that file) with others.

If my link gets too slow I'll either cap the bandwidth or take down the tracker until I can spare the bandwidth. Expect this tomorrow afternoon during the VCU finals!

Lynn (D)

PS. Do not expect high quality. These are WMV encodes of digitally captured views of the live Real Media broadcasts from NASA. Nothing to stand up and cheer about, but at least you didn't sit through 8 hours to see 2 hours worth of matches.

Re: VCU Regionals Videos

This is really cool I am downloading the qualifying matches now. I watched what I could of the regional when I had a chance during school but that was only about 4 matches. This will help me and I would believe a lot of other people with scouting and strategy.

Thank You

Re: VCU Regionals Videos

Qualifiers 26-50 have just been posted. Unfortunately I've got other things to do tomorrow morning, so the remainder of the qualifiers won't be available from me.

However, I am hoping to capture the finals if the Real Media feed isn't too sluggish based on the load.

Also, while you're at the trakker, feel free to pull down "2050222 Tetras" to see what a robot can and *will* do at Central Florida Regionals next weekend!

PS. If you've got the equipment, you can record tomorrow morning's qualifiers. You just need two machines and a digitizing camcorder. I use one laptop with a full screen Real Media player and a TV out. That connects to the camcorder's input (I use a Sony TRV750). The camcorder then goes IEEE 1394 (Firewire) to a second machine that runs the capture software. Record clips as necessary and then combine them all and render when the dust settles (or your drives fill up). Today's Q01-Q50 took 28Gbyte before editing.

There are freeware programs that will record video streams. It seems a little bit easier than a two-laptop one-digital-camcorder setup.

Thanks for these, though.
