Florida Regional wrap up

Well guys this weekend was amazing, congrads to the winners and yes 179 has an amazing robot. Overall this weekend was great, everything ran pretty smoothly. WE did have a problem here and there with the scoring system but it was quickly worked out. Congrads to all the teams on awards and a great regional. What were your thoughts?

I was watching the webcast and those were some of the best finals ever. All those teams had amazing robots. Congrats to them again.

Does anyone have a *real* list of the seedings and alliance pairings, since according to other people FIRST is not properly updating them?

It was 1592, not 1292. Great last match though... it was fun to watch even in my exhausted, half-asleep state which I'm still in while I write this post . (I guess that's what happens when our team plays X-Box until 4am the first night, and 2am the second.)

Congrats to the Bionic Pink Swamp!

Re: Florida Regional wrap up

Those final matches were intense. It doesn't look like SOAP is hosting the videos of it. Anyone know if they're planning to host those on SOAP or the NASA site?
That second match between us and 108's alliance was a stackfest. Great job 108, 61 and ??..

61, 108, and 1051
I thought that was one of the best matches of the whole weekend, 3 more seconds and I think we would have had you guys, but you and 233 had by far the two best robots in the competition. Can't wait to see you guys again in Atlanta.

Re: Florida Regional wrap up

thank you all for all of your wonderful words about 233!

personally... thursday scared me. It was the first time i got to see our robot all dressed up, unscratched, and actually drive on the field... except it didnt drive like planned. it drove in circles and continually shifted between high and low gear... not cool... but thanks to our wonderful pit crew we got that (and a few other glitches) fixed for Friday and Saturday.

Competition was great... reffering to another thread, the competition did seem like it as missing a little something at first... but once we got into the game, it was a blast. i enjoyed seeing everyone's robot perform, and our final alliance with The Children of the Swamp and The Bionic Tigers was awesome... it was great to finally work with Swamp Thing than against them, and after years of getting 2nd at this regional, it was a relief to actually win it all, thanks to our wonderful alliance.

a special congrats to Krunch for winning the Chairman's Award, you guys seriously deserve it! And to everyone who came to the competition, whether to compete, judge, referee, cheer, scout, support your family members or friends, or just hang out and watch, thank you.

Re: Florida Regional wrap up

This is just my opinion, but this was one of the best overall competitions that I have been to. It was basically perfect. My team won a few matches and lost a few, the weather was nice, Woody signed our robot and my shirt, and I was really happy when we won the Judges Award.

Thanks to the teams who were with us in an alliance, 343 and 1402 I believe (sorry if the numbers are wrong). Congrats to the winning teams and the team that won the Chairman's award.

Good luck to all teams in the rest of competition season.
