Happy Pi Day everyone!

If there's one thing I don't understand about Holland High it's this: Why do we make such a huge deal out of Mole Day and then totally ignore Pi Day?? It's not even a huge deal in the math department. My high school makes no sense.

One of the kids in my Calc class brought in pie. Now if kids bring in pie for pi day, what do they bring in for mole day?

Re: Happy Pi Day Everyone

Well, if you missed it due to spring break, there's always April 26, the day on which the Earth has travelled 2 AUs along its orbit since the new year. If you divide the total path by the distance travel at that time, you get pi (since it is C/D). Or, there's also July 22, known as Pi Approximation Day since it can br written as 22/7.

Thank you MIT and wikipedia.

My shoulder
Today, however, I brought pecan pie. On top of the pie, I wrote in icing the first 45 digits of pi(e) and drew 4 lines through it (someone please guess why). I got mixed reactions. "Is that mince meat pie...?" and "What is that? It looks like ****!" and for the people who actually got it said what I am all too familiar with: "You are SUCH a GEEK." If I remember correctly, all of the above bagan with the three words "WTF???" I had a blast. This day goes to show that confusing people is a grand form of entertainment.
