CMU Cam GUI

everything was followed in the user manual for the cmu cam setup but when the gui is started an errror message pops up saying "error reading file config.txt" and then it ask for port and after that nothing works in the gui.any advice?<were pretty sure that the hardware is setup right>

Are you trying to use windows to open the zip file without extracting everything? It could very possibly be looking for a config file that hasn't be extracted yet. If that doesn't work redownload the whole thing from www.ifirobotics.com . As far as not connecting, the config file is probably the fault, but also make sure you don't have the rs-232 signal going to the robot plugged in (maybe it was just us but our camera never connected with it plugged in). Hopefully that helps you, if not, I'll do anything i can to help.

Be sure that you are using the files from the "start here" link on this site. There is another zip file floating around named CMUcam2GUI.zip (I think it was from the Carnegie Mellon web site) which does not have all files you require.
