Sebas,

Please be more specific... Are you talking about the Edubot servos?

Regards,

Mike

Re: IFI motor problem

I think he's talking about these motors

The black red yellow orange wire is the only means to control & power the motor. The EDUBot Controller has special ports for these motors, although you can directly plug the motors into pwm ports and relay ports (they autodetect the port-type) on the FRC Robot Controller.

Re: IFI motor problem

That seemed pretty specific to me. It is no longer called the Edubot and they are not servos. This is what he is talking about http://www.ifirobotics.com/edu-motors.shtml
Typically servos (which these are not) have three wires: positve, ground, and signal. What the 4th is for here, I don't know.

Re: IFI motor problem

The IFI multi-speed motor, which I believe is what you were talking about, is the one with the 4 wired cable (Black, Red, Yellow, Orange). IFI doesn't make servos.
Regardless, I think you're looking for this:

Black - Ground
Red - +Battery
Yellow - PWM Control
Orange - +Battery

Here's the document on the 2004 Mini Robot Controller, look on Page 8, there's the pin-out diagram for the multi-speed motor.

Re: IFI motor problem

That's odd, I wonder why there are two power + ?

Anyway, why would you adapt this to a BoeBot instead of just using the modified servos that come with it? http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=900-00008 Very cheap too. The speed and torque are comparable as well.
