How many days a week do you practice??

For all the teams out there that have a prototype robot back at their building facility, the big question is how many days a week do you practice for a upcoming competition??

As for my team, 230 The Gaelhawks, we tend to practice at least 5 out of the 7 day of the week. On some weeks we end up practicing all 7 day. Our team feels that in order to improve our performance it is necessary to devote most of our time behind the controls. We feel that with our method, we can win a national championship, and so far all of our practice has been proven to benefit us. We had learned this at the UTC regional when we had paced as regional finalist. We feel that by reviewing the video footage of our matches and by correcting the errors we made, by practicing more, we feel that the division championship and national Champions is not that far out of reached.

Good luck to everyone and see you at nationals!!

Re: How many days a week do you practice??

My team, 399, doesn't really practice driving. Mostly because we don't have a drivable prototype. And we cant use past years bots because the driving style is different then this years. The drive team gets together and we discuss topics like strategies, and what we can do when we go to Vegas for our regional.

Re: How many days a week do you practice??

We would practice 6 or 7 days a week at the end of build season, to prepare for FLR. After that we took a few days off, then practiced a bunch more for Detroit. We invited team 27 over for some practice, which was a ton of fun. Definitely payed off.

We are taking a week(ish) break, then we will probably be practicing like mad to get ready for nationals. Paul is pretty strict about practicing, and it can get pretty violent sometimes

OK Soco ur their everynight unless there is a brick wall blocking your door and ur shackeled to ur bed. Me on the other hand, now that the build season is over, only go when Soco is begging on his knees for me to go for practice. lol. i go every other night if i can otherwise im obviously not there. Track wears me out so by the time people are at robotics im already in my PJs sleeping. bleh.

Re: How many days a week do you practice??

We use our old robots to practice. Usually we use our beloved fruit basket, aka Q-Bot from 2003, which, to us, looks just like a fruit basket. =D But at any rate, we usually use our 'bots to practice autonomous modes and possible sensors. We practice until we make it perfect. =)

Re: How many days a week do you practice??

Once our robot ships we are unable to do any worthwhile practice only having robots from previous years and no real practice feild to use. Before we shipped the robot we practiced everyday for about the last week of the build season.

Red face Re: How many days a week do you practice??

Well, for robotics, we are all in training everyday! For those who are hardcore, it is 24/7 for 365 (366 for leap year) not on April 1, .....lol just kidding.

Anywho, I practice with my paintball team about 3 times a every 2 weeks lol. I know wrong sport.
