Re: How To Make A Forum On Your Server

Upload the file via FTP to the apache folder on the server. Use a web browser and go to the .php install file and follow the intructions for setup and configuration. Then remove the install file and such so no one can add a backdoor admin user. After you run the intall file, everything should work fine.

Here's a link to a setup guide

Make sure that you're hosting service is running mysql and php.

Before you dive into phpbb make sure that you basically understand databases (mysql), web based programming (php), and html. Otherwise you'll be completely lost.

PM me if you have any questions, i've had experience install and running phpbb.

If you're useing a free server some free servers don't allow you to use PHP programs that install themselves, I actually just had that problem last night with PHPbb and e107.
