NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY PRESENTS:
THE 2005 BEANTOWN BLITZ! Registration Fee: $300 (RAYTHEON Sponsored BBQ Lunch Included) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matthews Arena Northeastern University Boston, MA 02115 7:00am – 6:00pm May 21, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is the Beantown Blitz? The Beantown Blitz is an unofficial FIRST competition using the 2005 “Triple Play” game format. Each team is guaranteed at least five matches and a practice match. The event will be staffed by many experienced referees, judges, field crew, and organizers. The venue is also a spectacular place to be as a spectator and competitor (http://gonu.com/facilities/matthews.html). The Beantown Blitz continues to grow into one of the best FIRST off-season events around, so feel free to offer us your team’s insight into what you would like to see! “The Beantown Blitz was great! Our team had a great time! I only have good things to say about the Blitz. We host Fall Fury, and I am the one who does all the planning for that so my hat goes off to all of you who put the Blitz together. You guys did a great job! Planning an off-season competition is one of the hardest things to do. There is so much work to be done and not everyone sees/knows what it is, so thank you to all the Blitz workers for putting on a great event.” – Kathleen Joyal, Team #213 Keene, NH “First of all, I want to thank everyone for putting on another great New England off-season Competition. A special thanks goes out the NU Dean of Engineering for being so supportive of a FIRST event at Northeastern. He was at the event the entire day and I heard that he was also there on Friday for set-up. I thought the event was very well run for its first year.” – Eric O’brien, Team #229 Clarkson University Who Gets to Play? Everybody is invited! Thirty-nine teams may compete. However, the planning committee did make a promise to the teams who competed in our 2004 inaugural event.
