logos&sponsors

How is your team going to present sponsor logos except for stickers on the robot?

We got donations so we could fly to the US and compete in the championships and we dont have enough place on our robot for stickers of all donators and sponsors....
Any ideas?

Re: logos&sponsors

I know that most teams usually put sponsor logos on the front and/or back of their team shirts. If you have several small sponsors, there's usually enough room on the back of the shirt to throw in a small sponsor logo for each as a thank you. That's also nice because if you give team shirts to sponsors and all they see the free advertising they get out've it and it's just a nice thank you back to them.

Also, you could probably place sponsors on team banners or maybe a small display in the pits. If your team has a website, having a "Thank you" section towards sponsors is also a very nice visible way to give a thanks that anyone can see.

Re: logos&sponsors

....put them in the team name so if/when they show up they hear their company get called out.....that is assuming you don't have a billion sponsors in that name *looks around for 343*

Definitely put it on your website. ask them if they have any handouts they want to give away at the competition (ex. Busch Gardens/Sea World gives us coupons from their theme parks to hand out at events, they are few, but they go fast.)

Have a team trailer or something? sticker it up *still looking around for 343*

i dunno.....i think that is all the tricks I have learned off of Metal-in-Motion....maybe more to come, but I'll have to think real hard.

[edit]at the end of the year get a trophy/plaque/framed letter signed by everyone/gift and give it to them thanking them make sure they know they were apreciated so they will come around again the following year.[/edit]

Re: logos&sponsors

You could make different buttons with your team name and different sponsors on them, if you have tons of major sponsors. Like a different one for each sponsor. They'd probably like that.

Re: logos&sponsors

We have the names of all our sponsors in on our shirts, our 'bot, and our pit area. For those of you at the Buckeye, we were the one's with the fancy lightningy background for our pit. (See attachment)

And, as a side note, thanks to AEP, OSU, and NASA-Glenn.

Team shirts, website, banner in your pit area. Another idea is to have a team letterhead and put sponsors logos on the bottom of it.

...or, if you're really dead-set on having their logos on the robot itself, make space!

Take a flat piece cardboard or aluminum or whatever else you can use and still make weight, and attach it to some side or part of the robot where it's out of the way (read: won't mess up your drivetrain or arms). Then sticker the night away.

Re: logos&sponsors

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but we put our sponsor's names and logos on the shipping crate, then we disassemble it, and use the half with the logos in our pit. There's tons of room on a crate, so even if you have a lot of sponsors, it shouldn't be a problem (just make sure you put them on a side that will be visible, and not against another team's pit area). Also, if you team hands out any papers, like a newsletter, packets or brochures, have a space for all the sponsors.

Re: logos&sponsors

We have sponsors on our shirts and stickers to hand out. We also have a few huge banners to hang not only in the pit but all around the stadium. Another way to thank the sponsors is to cheer when they are announced.

I will add to this... you can make the "sponsor panel" easy to attach by simply velcro-ing it on to your robot. Make sure you laminate it or protect it in some other way so that the stickers dont get scratched off in the heat of battle.

One other idea... Make a pit board. my team makes a pit board where we list all of our sponsors so that people can read them as they walk by. It shouldn't be too hard to buy some foamboard or poster board, print out your sponsors' logos, glue them on, and hang up the board in your pit. You can use a portable easel to display the pit board if you want, or you can create your own method of hanging it.

Here is an example of some foam board, although I don't know about getting it in Isreal. If you can't get any in Isreal, I bet you could stop at a Staples or some other office supply store to get some once you arrive in Atlanta. Same thing goes for portable display easels. EDIT: found a tabletop easel, if that helps you any.

Hope this helps you out!

Re: logos&sponsors

besides on the shirt...we actually paste the names on a white board and have drilled holes on top to hang in the pit. therefore it's easy to use each year.
