Re: Proudest Moment

this year ive had 2 equally proud moments, both occuring at regionals
1st was when our robot succesfully took a tetra off our back flawlessly and capped it quickly, one of the mentors was very happy that the strategy worked, even though we lost the match (it was a practice match); the second moment would be when we won the imagery award

Re: Proudest Moment

Umm...lets see...
Learned the difference between if(x=0) and if(x==0)
(involves a mishap where the turret rotated ~1500 degrees in 5-6 seconds, removing power cable to pneumatic solenoid rendering claw useless; totally my fault)
But seriously, how I know we're gonna KICK BUTT tomorrow (Toronto Regional). I hope I get a chance to help someone on another team like the programmer from 547 helped me (THANK YOU).

Re: Proudest Moment

I have a few. Getting al of the compliments for my play by play calling at NJ. It was my first time behind the mic and I was so nervous. Secondly having Randy Schaeffer and Don Bowers personally reccomend me to volunteer at Nats. Finally being on the field to see my HS team (11) win chairman's award at NJ. I know how much hard work they put into that team and to see them pull it out was amazing!

I get to volunteer at nats so I might have to edit this post later on

Re: Proudest Moment

I think my proudest moment as team captain was the moment I realized, on day two of the Denver Regional, that all of the HPA Robotics mentors present were either sitting in the stands above our pit, or watching the matches on the other side of the stadium. The team 833 pit was bustling with enthusiastic students, both veterans and young excited freshmen, who wanted to see our robot do well on the field. We managed to get inspected, organize ourselves for matches and mobilize, maintain safety in the pit, and stay in high spirits almost completely on our own, as a team truly made and led by the students.

It was truly amazing. I felt like I had turned our team into something that really reflected the goals of FIRST. Even though 833 did not make it to the quarterfinals at the Denver Regional, I was more happy with the team than when we won Pacific Northwest in 2002.

Way to go team

Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment was when I helped our team win our first match of this year. All i remeber is being out of breath from running back and forth and feeling that rush you get when you know you have just accomplished something. Another one of my proud moments was watching two of the four teams from savannah (South Effingham and Johnson) get to finals.

My proudest moment was when our team won the "Delphi - 'Driving Tomorrow’s TechnologyTM'" award at Detroit. We owe it all to Matt Reiland for designing he drive system and the students who helped sell it to the Judges

Talking Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment overall was the moment where my team won Chairman's at the Arizona regional. but...

I think it was sooo cool when our team was in the semi-finals and all three of our opponents took on our lone bot. They pushed us into one of their corner tetras. We got out and still won the match but man was I exhilarated trying to steer the robot out of there.

----Look for the little blue bot at Nationals----

Definitely getting Finalists at Chesapeake this year. It was so exciting...my voice was so hoarse by Saturday night, but I didn't care. It was so thrilling and amazing..I'll never forget it.

Kamen, not Camen, sort of common mistake.

My proudest moment? It's a tie between winning the first qual match of the regional, winning the GM award and having the autonomous work first time we put it on the field, and fail only once since due to a placement error.

My brother actually has a t-shirt that Dean Kamen signed that was a good moment when he got that.

Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment this year was winning the Inspiration award. We lost chairmans to one of the best teams in FIRST, Wildstang. Winning the Inspiration award was the closest we have been to chairmans since, I believe, 2002, where we won a regional chairmans award. Hopefully, I will be able to report a more proud moment after the Championships.

Re: Proudest Moment

I've got a couple from this season... mentioned in the order that they occurred:

1) At SVR, waiting for the announcement of the AVA winner, hearing and seeing our animation on the screen, and just sitting there, stunned.

2) Also at SVR, watching my babies (team 1560) getting picked for alliances advancing to the quarterfinals, and later, finding out that they got Highest Seeded Rookie.

Re: Proudest Moment

When my rookie team, ranked at 46 at that time allied with a team that was ranked in the 60s, with the third team missing, we managed to tie in a match with the #1 team, #8 team and #10s team. (0 : 0), we could have won with a 1:0 if our ally's human player didn't step out of boundary,
