By encoded twice, I meant encoded once, then encoded again. The AV feed is routed into a Polycom videoconferencing codec, which dials into a NASA MCU or endpoint. So it's encoded once at Lone Star by the Polycom, and then presumably again at the NASA site to get it into Realplayer format. So two rounds of lossy compression can make for some odd video sometimes.
It doesn't matter if you write a thousand lines of code for a robot, if you didn't teach and/or inspire the HS students as you did it then you are not a mentor. - JamesBrown [more]
