AP Calc

So, did anyone else take the AP Calculus test today? What did you think of it? Was your brain fried after 3.5 hours of math? Did the free-response drive you nuts?

I, for one, am glad it's over.

my EXACT thoughts

So jeff, I'm guessing either you took the calc bc test too or at least the ab test was exactly the same. My mind is so numb right now, after I went out to lunch with a bunch of people in my class I've been bumming around the house all afternoon.

When I got the test, I thought the M/C wasn't too bad...actually kinda easy. But who knew that free response questions could put you physically in pain. That was not fun, but I agree that I'm glad its all over with.

I did take the BC, and I agree with you. The M/C seemed ridiculously easy, and the free-response was fiendishly difficult. I had a headache afterwards. It was rough.

That test was certainly the most fun I've had in a long time. It was just great sitting through that, especially with an incompetent proctor. wow. Anyway - I agree. I took the AB test and the multiple choice were good and easy (easier than the practice AP tests of the past we took) but the free response section was not that bad. One question stands out in my mind: it was the very last one where the table of values was given for x, f(x), and f'(x). Part (c) asked to find some constant "r" such that 0 <=c <= 0.5 and f''(c) = r. That is my digested version of it - I'm sure it was worded a lot worse than that because I had to read it over several times to get an idea of what it wanted. Anyway, I got 6 - and after asking around after the test, so did the majority of the other people .
Done with Calc...until next year.... d'oh!

I took the BC, too. The MG (multiple guess) left me enough time to check each of my answers three times and I still had spere time. Then I started the free response section with the thought "Just do it as formal as you can if you have so much free time." Result: I needed 50 minutes for Part I of the free response (realized that I was slow after 20 minutes, though) and then sped up, 20 minutes for Part II. Needless to say that the tennis match with the JV team was a total disaster (our opponents even seemed to have so much free time on their hands that they arrived before we were finished with school...)

Calc AB

Id say that the multiple choice has been the easiest. I have taken 5 practice tests including last years which were some what harder. However, the free response questions were a little tougher compared to years before. I wish the free response were easier since I do better on them. Overall I thought the test was medium hard and hopefully I will score a 4.

I took the Calc BC test. The multiple choice was quite easy, but the free response was a lot tougher than it has been in previous years (or so I thought). The calculator-allowed section was especially annoying.
