Football Anyone?

I'm not sure if there already was a thread about this, I tried searching for it but am new to this forum and didn't really know how to.

But yeah there is a huge field next to the Georgia Dome which would be perfect for playing football.

I know TJ (88) had one going last year.

We could definetly get 1 or 2 or even 3 good games of football going on there at the same time. If we get enough people there would be no pausing when 1 team has a match to get to.

Anyone interested?

Re: Football Anyone?

Define "football:" Soccer, or American footbal?

If it's soccer, I'll play if I get a chance to. That should be fun.

I would be very interested in (American) football, but there might be one conflict (considering I am a driver)... When do u plan on doing these games?

Re: Football Anyone?

Lunch is always a good time for playing stuff. Also during the the practice matches on Thurday isn't bad. I think I remembered some kids playing during matches last year but I'm not too sure if I want to play during matches.

And IMDWalrus, The field is big enough to have atleast 1 of each. I would be up for both of them too.

Som people were giving out frisbees last year and there was a big game of ultimate frisbee going on too.

Re: Football Anyone?

I'm in for either, but not Friday or Saturday because I have other team responsibilities. I'm going to have to say soccer, though, that way our drivers will be less likely to have broken arms. They can still drive with broken legs though!

There has already been a thread started by WATSON Robotics challenging any takers to a game of football at the championships.

Championship Event WATSON Challenge

Well Watson Challenge is for wednesday, but a soccer game in that field sounds tempting to me. And the girls from my team might be able to play as they dont really like American Football.

Re: Football Anyone?

Hey its 234 from Boilermaker. I remember you guys had the bird. Yeah sure 1002 might be able to put up a few guys.

What time and where? Even though we live near the Ga Dome, we are still sleeping at a hotel there Wed. night- Sat night.
We have a few ok guys. But sure we could get a game. I don't think it would be too much of a challenge for you guys. But it would still be fun.

Oh yeah, and there is some open space at the carnival where we could play around at too. I might be able to bring a soccer ball. Or we can attempt to make one out of duct tape.

Re: Football Anyone?

Soccer seems fun also, I will bring a few of my team members, just as long as I know when to go and as long as its not at the same time as the WATSON Challenge.. Football(Wed and Fri), Soccer(???) and Ultimate Frisbee(Wed and Lunch) nationals will be great.

Re: Football Anyone?

So is there a WATSON Challnge going on during Friday too, or is that just football with all the teams on Friday?

I can bring my soccerball and a football on all the days. And I will b sure to have them during the Carnival Saturday.

Both Wed. and Fri will be part of the WATSON challenge and both opprotunties will include as many games as possible, not just watson vs. this and watson vs that but a tournament style kind of series of games.
