Re: Archimedes Division

i am rediculously excited about Nationals The Championship Event this year.

seriously. i just looked at the Division Lists and i freaked out. This is going to be so much fun!! i cant wait, i really can't! Not only will the matches be exciting--mind you, ALL OF THE MATCHES will be exciting, not just the semifinals and up, but ALL because everyone who made it to Atlanta is a winner and has proven themselves in competition. Every team attending The Championship Event has a chance to win. If they didn't, why would they be invited to come in the first place (besides to have an awesome time)? As i was saying, not only will the matches be exciting, but i'm really interested in who is going to win Chairman's Award. A lot of good teams are up, and its probably going to be close this year. i wish the best of luck to all!

i dont think we'll have to worry too much about spirit... i'll try to get my hands on enough body paint to go around, if anyone's interested, but no promises. (knowing my luck, one will be lucky to get pink war-paint on their face) also, i'll be getting a group to run around and do Good-Morning cheers, if anyone's interested. it shouldnt be too hard to find me, i'll be walking around the pits greeting every team and wishing them a good morning and good luck every morning (maybe even more that one time a day)! and i'm sure with the help of teams like Children of the Swamp, KRUNCH, and others (sorry, its late and FL teams were the first i could think of) we should have no problem showing the other divisions how much spirit Archemedies has.

8 DAYS!!! the suspense is killing me!!

Team 93's Apple will be there. He was kind of disappointed at West Michigan with the lack of hugs he got, but I'm sure he will get plenty of them in Archimedes. Good luck to everyone.

Re: Archimedes Division

we have either 2 or 3 mascots (1 may have broken...not sure...) (i might want to add that they are not alive...) but yes. i will (as leslie previously said) try to get body paint and i am one of the extremely spirited people on my team on the good-morning crew. so it shuold be easy to find us hanging in the pits saying hi to everyone in sight (literally). and the most important thing about Atlanta: Have fun!! it doesn't really matter how well you place! we are all winners or we would not have gotten so far!

Hey guys,

I know our team website isn't listed on teh Archimedes page, but you guys should check us out at www.teampioneers.com -- we're really excited about this new layout.

Feel free to PM me anything; I'd like to hear comments on it. Team 1676: The Pascack PI-oneers won the NJ Regional All-Star Award, and are looking forward to competing in Archimedes this year!

WOW very impressive layout. Rookie teams always impress me with the amount of prior skill they bring to robotics. Not only is it a nice layout, but the content is great and everything seems to be in place. It's professional but at the same time keeps its elegance and cutting edge. Nice Job!!! Hope to see you in Archimedes.

Behind the Archimedes field the X-Cats will be hosting a Tic Tac Tetra tournament.

Here's the details on the game:

. GENERAL RULES
a.) 2 teams consisting of 3 "robots" each (X and T)
b.) each robot starts out with only 1 X or T
c.) each alliance starts out in their respective end zones
d.) on a single turn each robot can only: -move
-place a piece (scoring)
-defend/move
-load/move
e.) scoring is based on competition rules
f.) only 2 robots are allowed in one space at a time
g.) a game consists of 10 rounds
II. LOADING ZONE
a.) robot has to go to the corner spots in their respective end zone in order to load
b.) load + move = 1 turn
III. DEFENSE
a.) if robot declares a defense move the opponent can not score in that spot until THAT robot's next turn
b.) defense + move = 1 turn

Any team can join up and participate. You don't have to be in Archimedes to play. Try it it's fun!

BTW no mascot this year.

Hi everyone,

Here is a link to a movie on our team web site showing our new autonomous mode. It's a 4 MB download but there's some humor at the end. :-)
