Re: Proudest Moment

I have two proudest moments this season. One is, of course, winning the Detroit Regional (Thanks 245 and 301, couldn't have done it without ya!) Also, It was great when we owned evey goal in the first match of elims. World Domination!!

My proudest moment this year would have to be my team winning BAE with 126 and 350

Re: Proudest Moment

I already posted here but there are a few things I'm proud of this year

1. winning the Chesapeake regional
2. beating the national high score twice and holding it for two weeks
3. only commiting one 10 point penalty (for ramming an opposing robot across the field and into our own alliance partner in the loading zone) in 2 regionals
4. being able to even attend the Nationals by new sponsors and fundraising efforts
5. being able to tell people about the FIRST program and seeing how a lot of people find it to be a very important program for the future of engineering in America
6. being a senior and seeing how much our team has grown and progressed into a well known member of the FIRST program
7. any person involved in this program

hhhmmm...good question Shyra. I would have to say our first win at GTR, after being disappointed twice by missing allied teams, failed programming and just getting beat it was extremely exciting. I was so proud of you guys. I am pretty sure I screamed so loud Alisha temporarily when deaf in her left ear.

P.S. Shyra, you never posted yours...unless I somehow missed it.

Re: Proudest Moment

So I started this thread, but I never actually answered my own quetion. I actually have three proudest moments, one for 771, one for 1353, and one as my own personal one.

I was so proud of SWAT when I saw Mildread moving and stacking and working the way she should for the first time at competition. I was even prouder when we broke our losing streak at the end of Friday.

For 1353, only a fellow FIRSTer can know what was going through me when I heard an alliance captain choose team 1353 to be their alliance.

Now my own personal moment. This one was the reason I started the thread in the first place, but decided to wait until later to post. It was when my teacher and I were discussing universities, where I had been accepted, and where I want to go. He told me to go to University of Toronto instead of Waterloo so that I would be nearby and could mentor. To know that he thinks that I have the ability to be a mentor means so much to me because it showed me that he had recognized my hard work and believed in me.

So those are my proudest moments of the year ...

Re: Proudest Moment

My proudest moment was October 28th. This was the day that Principal Parker agreed he would still support and help fun a team at Harmony High. This was a relief due to the hurricanes that damaged our school, Mr. Fritts and I and I were not completely sure if his handshake earlier in the year still applied. This was also the day we got our team number, 1604. Everything after this point was gravy, if the team would not have won a single match nor an award this year, I would still be extremely proud of all the accomplishments that have come from that day.

So far it must be watching my son Dominic (our arm operator ) sing the National Anthem at SVR then go to the controls, we had first match Saturday morning, we tipped over struggling for a tetra and Dominic got our bot back up using the arm,we rotate, extend and twist, God ! It was so cool to watch him get the bot back up and it didn't end there , we won that match and went on to win the regional thanks to teams 254 and 22.
