Re: The bus leaves tomorrow!

O.K. Out of curiosity, how in the world did discussion about flying to Atalanta get into a thread about riding a bus down there?

About 27 hours away from the bus trip to Atlanta, and I still have not gotten a bottle of Mountain Dew for the long trip.

It depends on the people! Some people are worth spending 12 hours with, no matter what the transportation (heck, I'd spend 12 hours on a bicycle with Dean any day!)

Re: The bus leaves tomorrow!

In defense of all those taking the bus (I'm flying), it's not just two hours. It's getting to the airport, waiting in the airport, waiting in the other airport for your luggage, getting into Atlanta from the airport. Plus, how is everyone getting all their gear there? My trip is 2 hours by plane, but "travel" time is 6-7 hours.

Re: The bus leaves tomorrow!

Team 772 is now IN ATLANTA!!! I can see the Georgia dome from my room! And the most glorious thing of all... the Fairfield Inn has WiFi. I'd have pictures and stuff but, we're going to the mall in about 15 minutes so I'll do it after...

For the reference of those coming from Canada, we left Windsor at 4:30 AM (in vans), we were through the border by 5:30 and we arrived in Atlanta at 6:00 PM. We have a second group of people driving up tomorrow.

Yes, it's arriving at the airport parking place by 6:15am, at the airport by 6:30am for gorup check-in, flight doesn't leave til 8; long layover in Chicago; arrive in Atlanta by 5pm; hotel by 6? So 12 hours for us, even by plane! (and picture this - our plane leaves Atlanta on Sunday morning at 6:30ish!)

Getting back to the comparing of trips...

Twelve hour bus ride ahead of me, leaving at 6:30 tomorrow morning. It might not be quite as nice as flying, but we'll survive. At least we get to go.

OK. Maybe it's not just to gloat. I guess one-up-man-ship, I'll-see-your-tale-of-woe-and-raise-you works too.
