Re: Web Game: Deception
Interesting...I found the implication of the clue...spoiler:
It means: application installed: mp3 version 5. The command "mp3" runs an mp3 player. Implications of this? What do all of these things mean? ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH (W/ SPOILERS) By searching the name of every one of his buddies in the address book of civmsg, I was able to find a password for a log (itisraininginalberta). To get to this, just type /logs itisraininginalberta in the civmsg screen. The actual conversation doesn't seem to have any immediate meaning, but now we know the user's handle. Re: Web Game: Deception
Ka-spoiler warnings~
I'm guessing that the password to the email will be one of the last things that you recieve. However, a quick search of canada in the oracle yielded some tourist information. Dont know what its use is just yet, but I'll find out >.> *edit* Dumped some of the city phrases into log passwords and I got some results, including a program called gallery. nifteh. /Endspoilers Great puzzle, fun fun ^^ Last edited by Enterprize : 15-04-2005 at 22:50. |

<spoiler>
I believe the city references are these: /logs quebecisquitenicethistimeofyear and /logs torontoisapopularattraction Although there may be more. References to Fiji in the emails and the IM logs, as well as references to the trueman show, not sure of the significance. </spoiler> |

RbtGal1351 -
*major spoilors?!* quebecisquitenicethistimeofyear and torontoisapopularattraction, both fround from the Canada File mentioned in my last post. Cant seem to find a way to get past gallery, but I'll work on it some more tonight, maybe I'll think of something... btw, oracle-ing the truman show gives you the quebecisquitenice password Last edited by Enterprize : 16-04-2005 at 22:57. |

Re: Web Game: Deception
obviously, the passwords involve either the Truman show or Canada and some major cities in Canada, so maybe we need to read those files completely
BTW anybody tried the fsck command? it now just repairs three sectors Last edited by Joe_P. : 17-04-2005 at 14:43. |

Re: Web Game: Deception
As a non-programmer, DOS-inept player of this, lets just say it's taking em some time. Something I'd like to point out though, not sure if it's important, is that you might want to take a look at the drive root before and after you guess the correct number in numbers (C:\> becomes G:\>). As for the rest of the whole thing, if someone had the time to explain how they're finding this stuff, I'd be much appreciative.

Re: Web Game: Deception
<spoler>
how did u find the numbers program? where was the reference to it? I guessed the number right: C:\> numbers You Guessed Correctly! The Number was 6! You should be a professional number guesser or someth2#5dE r&g@fsdFE?aE3AbY Re: BixYTHday PargYGA4$%we3 SRy5Y6 it is not going to work unless we can get at least twelve more people to sign on, we have to have enough people to cover the cost of actually renting the restaurant. Greg, did you try calling Casa de Zorros? I think they have a party rate we cA#5#aE4AgBt6 Do you want to play again? Guess a new number, or type /exit to exit. yes it does change to the g drive and there is also a new set of programs you get to choose from. hmmmm Edit: Okay now we have access to new file system options after getting the number. /cd [drive] changes working drive /ver displays version and system information - DISABLED ON SECONDARY /dir displays directory information as well as some other stuff i haven't explored yet. Re: Web Game: Deception
Silly Joe, the fun of such a game is trying it yourself
But alas, no you cant download a file [hard disk corrupted] and you require an upload password. *ka-theory!?~* I'm guessing it will make us zip the file with civzip and upload it with civftp before we can send the file to elvis...could be wrong though *shrug* |

Re: Web Game: Deception
sound theory, and one i wish i could try, but i don't know what the file is
my theory: me thinks that the file is an eznote, but since the hard drive is corrupt, we probably will need find a way to fix it so we can check them. /end theory |
