I was a big fan of those shop rags team 85 gave out, and they came in handy too when we took apart our trannys.

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

What did people think of 1394's strategy boards (full & half sized), and the commemorative postcards of the same theme that were handed out at nationals? Good idea that should be continued, or do people like buttons & the like more?

The thing I liked the most was the laminated fields for use of strategizing. A few teams gave them out - I think we got one from 88?

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

My team handed out MINI sharpies....we ran out on thursday. we had 200 of them and they were gone except for the 5 i kept hidden till Finals. They were great for anything. We will bring them back next year.

To anyone we gave out the standard button, but to all the teams in the Curie division we gave out rearview mirrors screwed onto a piece of wood that said "quailty is a reflection of you". I was wondering what the curie teams though of them.

We gave out laminated boards to Galileo Teams and teams at BAE and Chesapeake... We have sooooooooooooooooo many left too...

Personally I liked the team that gave out those awesome tie-dyed head and wrist bands... Who were they?

and I liked the team that gave out buttons... Which team was that???

But the coolest thing was probably the silly putty... I love taht stuff and it kept me entertained... haha...

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

Yeah, I have a huge glob of silly putty that could entertain me for days. While this may not be the coolest thing a team could give out, team 1403 gave away pens. Of course, not just any pens, but the best pens I have EVER USED!! First, they were the smoothest gliding ballpoint I've ever used, second, they look cool, and third, they're compact and fit comfortably in even the pockets of tight pants. I declare the 1403 pen to be the king of click pens!! Did anybody else get one and think they were this awesome?

The Rear-view Mirror on Curie was one of the best things we got this year, it was so cool. I just think about when I had to buy onefor my car and it was like $20! your sponsors must love you guys!

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

team 88 gave out those tie die things.. (see my pic if anyone is wondering what were talking about)..

what did teams think about the robot checklist / safety guidelines that we gave out ? did anyone acually use them?? i know a couple rookie teams came up to me and thanked me cuz they said they had no clue of what to do...and it provided a base.. but what about all the veteran teams?

i HAVE to thank team #1 for giving away pens at great lakes.. because it had a clip for shirt pockets.. i put a wirearound that and put on a lanyard , it is my lucky scouting pen/etc,, , ive used it soo many times and its good to know it wont explode in my pocket!! < aha you can see the yellow pen sticking outa the junk around my neck in the pic too

Re: What's The Coolest Thing A Team Can Give Out?

A few years back, we cnc cut soap molds out of wax with our team number embossed on the top of the soap. I can't remember exactly how many bars of colored soap I made, but it was a lot. I also added a label inside each bag that stated "This is soap, Not food", just because some of us where worried people may try to eat it. Definately got mixed comments bout the soap idea, some people thaught it was great, complaining they never got enough soap at the hotel, others thaught it was an odd idea, but it got our name out, and I thaught it was creative. Right now we are giving out buttons, and brochures. I remember in the past getting a lot of cool things, like the slinky. I forget the team number, but I still have a duck that I adopted, that may have been last year.I have a drawer full of stuff that i've accumulated, lke one team was giving out a small screw driver set, a barrel of monkeys, stuff like that. Ahh the good ol' days.

Yeah, they love us. It also helps that our sponser is Magna Donnelly Electronics and they make the electronic chips for the review mirriors, including the On-Star chips. I'm glad teams liked them.
