I think Championship is the best. I think so because you see the robots on the internet and you can just imagine how they are. And then finally, you get to see them live right in front of you. Then Championship is better because it gathers the best of the best basically. And also, we did better at Championship than at regionals for some reason.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

While the championship is great for seeing a wide variety of teams and robots and you get to see people that you probably will never get to see at your regional (I don't really expect many western teams to come to FLR) and the presentation is spectacular the championship is often distant and overewhelming. The energy level is high but nothing like the pure adrenalin of a regional. The regionals are a big old party wrapped around a robotic cometition while the champioinship feels like a convention. It's impossible to match the intensity even with the superior teams.

Arizona Regional always has a small amount of teams, you get to know everyone, and I think it was better than when we went to Nationals last year. Nationals were fun in their own way, though, and I'd love to go again.

I can't choose. Philly is my favorite regional because I know the people who are there each year, its like a family. Championships are exciting on a whole new level so its both for me.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

I have no idea what the Championship is like since I've only seen it over the webcast(although I got excited enough from that). I do know I was catatonic for a week after the Chesapeake Regional; I can only imagine what it must be like to go to two regionals.

(Hopefully I won't have to wonder next year...)

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

Regionals are always something to look forward to. They may be small compared to the Championships, but they are by far more exciting. At the Midwest regional, for example we had a little round of Jeopardy, and Dean Simmons and the Kamens had a little concert after the first day of competition. Teams have a better chance to win an award, and congratulate those who had won an award.

Teams also have less time between rounds that they compete in, keeping a flow of excitement throughout the participants.

Plus we wouldn't be so exhausted from such a long walk from the pits to the stands.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

In my opinion The Championship is better because of how many different robots you get to see and all the people you get to meet from all over the United States and even other Countries. At a regional this is possible but doesn't apply to all regionals. Also at the championship I personatly feel a lot more exitement when I'm out on the field. (dont know why i just do)

But that's just me.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

The regionals (Peachtree & Boilermaker) we went to this year seemed more exciting! The final matches (4 of them, 1 was a tie) at the Boilermaker were unbelievable. Team #71 fell over with a little help, and most people thought the other alliance had won the finals but that was not the case.

Confined spaces make all the cheering seem louder and you can concentrate on one field. Having so many people at the Championship's means you have to sit so far from Einstein for the finals. Having Sir Charles do the play by play at the Peachtree for all the matches made it even better! Winning the Chairman's award at the Peachtree didn't hurt!

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

Regionals (by far). At regionals everyone is excited and cheering. The teams know each other and cheer for each other (especially during play offs). There just a closeness about regionals that make them more exciting.

In particular I know at SBPLI (our home regional), we made sure we cheered for other teams we knew - such as Baldwin who we mentored. (I'm not saying we don't cheer for everyone, but in particular teams we mentored and have relationships with.) As Kyle said, it's like a family.

Also by the Championships everyone is whiped out and ready for the end.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

I think Regionals are more spirited and everyone feels closer, since a lot of the same teams go to a lot of the same regionals you start to meet people and so on. The Championship is just so large scale its hard to feel like you mean anything...

I voted for Championship though, because from a drivers point of view the Championship was way more exciting. I haven't been nervous for a match since last year when I was a rookie arm-op. I actually got nervous for one or two of the divisional finals, and again when we got to Einstein. Not to mention when you get to Einstein, you have a whole gigantic section of people cheering for you. The number of teams that cheer for you increases a ton because you make friends teams that are done and need someone to cheer for and so on...

...It's intense.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

Hands down, Championship. It's 3 days of intense competition, and you kind of escape from the "real world", and there's thousands of people and hundreds of teams. I know that I meet more people at Championships, because teams from around the nation, and world are there. It's not just the near by teams, that you usually get a regional event. Regionals are great, but I'd have to say Championships definitely. I already miss being there

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

I would have to go with Regionals.

For one, it allows the team to function more like a team. Most of the team at the regional will go down to the pits after a match and see what is going on. At championship, most of the team stays in the stands which creates lack of communication.

Re: So which one is more exciting? Regionals or the Championship?

I went with the Championship for one reason: the intensity.

The competition seems to be on another level entirely when you're at the big competition, and that definitely makes it better. The qualifying matches were many times better than they were at the regionals I attended, and (what I saw of) the finals included the best matches I've seen all year.

Still, being able to do both is enough for me.

Conor's First Law of Parties
-The More, the merrier.

The championship has over 300 teams and with well over 10,000 people. Therefore the championship is more fun, as well as it has more people that you usually don't get to see at regionals. Not to mention the competition level generally is higher than that of regionals. Don't forget, the championship has the Webhug.
