Division team buttons at nationals

I was thinking at nationals, and it occurred to me that it would make life easier to colour code the driver buttons according to which division you are in. It would make getting to the field that much easier, and I believe that it would be fairly simple to print up buttons in 4 different colours. What do you guys think?

What differance would it make other then showing what teams are where?

/edit/ I am not saying its a bad idea I am just wondering what difference it would make in the competition./edit/

Well actually they'd need 6 colors, FVC, and FLL each wear different colors, but thats not a bad idea.

Here's a few potential positives:
- Perhaps it would help queuers know where teams are going, or where to send them..maybe...

-It might be nice to help random people out as they're walking around - they will know which division you are in in case they were interested, without having to look it up on the master team list. Of course, unless you memorize the colors, they might consider printing the division name on the button.

-It might be nice to snaz up the driveteam buttons just for no reason at all.. just to be colorful.

-It might.... help fellow division mates recognize who else is in their division, so they can say... "hay good luck in Newton, we'll see ya out there".. Probably not all driveteams remember every single team in their division by memory...

Not sure what else it would help.. These are just little added bonuses, nothing outrageously helpful...

Re: Division team buttons at nationals

It just seems really easy to do. When walking onto the field, I was asked which field I was on a number of times by volunteers.

Re: Division team buttons at nationals

Isn't it easier to recognize one button color rather than 6, especially when someone is wearing a variety of team butons?

Re: Division team buttons at nationals

I was thinking something like this.

Definitely differentiate the colors between FRC, FLL, and FVC. It was decidedly odd to see an 11 operator badge on a 12-year-old--untill I realized it was FLL team 11, not FRC team 11.

Past that, you could differentiate divisions just by printing the division name on the buttons. Those buttons have that much real estate, but at the same time you don't have to think whether they are FRC or not.

Good point about the shirt button clutter.
I think easiest solution/improvement would be like Billfred said - different colors for FRC and FLL/VEX.... but print the division name on the buttons to help queuers and whoever else.
So - I wonder when FIRST will implement that online "suggestion box" I was hoping for.... I believe they provide the buttons right...
