Re: 2005 IRI Details
OK, I need some help here guys.
I would love to come to IRI, and my daughter who will be a senior next year would like to visit Purdue this summer. I need to travel with my wife and 4 kids (our 5th is in college) from Florida. We would probably fly up to Cincinnati or Indianapolis the weekend before and fly out the Sunday afterwards (1 week trip). Our 15 year old twins (boy and girl) have no desire to travel to the midwest - it doesn't sound like fun to them. Our other daughter is 9. I need to figure out how to sell this idea. What is there to do in Indiana and vicinity (within a couple days travel) that we could plan for fun as a family? |

1) Children's Museum of Indianapolis--It's not just for children. http://www.childrensmuseum.org/gener...eneralinfo.htm 2) Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/museum/ 3) Indiana State Museum http://www.in.gov/ism/ There are some very good amusement parks not too far away, like King's Island in Cincinnati, and Cedar Point (http://www.cedarpoint.com) in Sandusky, Ohio. The Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio is about 2 hour's drive from Indianapolis. I hope this helps. If there are some specific things you are looking for, let us know, and maybe some of us who have spent a lot of years in Indiana can help. |

Well, I don't know how big your kids are into racing, but the Indianapolis Speedway was pretty cool when we went there (they take you on the track). That's all I know, but I'm from MI and have only been there once. As incentive for the girls to come? Tell them that there will be lots and lots of boys at the robot competition. If that doesn't get them to come, then you might need a bit more help... |

There's also a park south of Indy, but it is much smaller. |

Re: 2005 IRI Details
Check out www.indy.org
There's a lot of things to do. White River State Park is a really nice area to just hang out, walk around, do whatever. The canal walk is nice, and some of the museums/attractions are accessible from within the park. There's some caves in southern IN, and some over the border in KY, I think. And of course, a visit to Purdue. You might try to make a few contacts (if you haven't already) with some of the Boiler Invasion 461 students, if they happen to be around, they can tour you around the campus. |

Re: 2005 IRI Details
2 questions:
Will there be any rule changes to the Triple Play rules implemented? I'd personally at least like to see the return of the Yellow/Red System. (See here:http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=29534 for more details) And when will the dinner #s and money be due? Just want to know when I need to have a final number of people attending by. Thanks guys. |

And that's just Indianapolis. If you're coming in through Cincinnati, check out Paramount's Kings Island. |

If King's Island is anything like it's Virginia counter-part, King's Dominion, it should be great.
