Beta testers needed

This weekend I have been putting the finishing touches on an online community that I and two friends built for a year long independent study project. We will be giving a presentation in two weeks and wanted to make sure that we had fixed any bugs in the parts of the site that are done. We also thought it would be cool if the site were active in the time leading up to the presentation. The website is called NullAgency and can be found at http://www.nullagent.no-ip.com The site has blogs and message boards and also allows users to create there own groups in which they get to have a message board for a specific topic. All constructive input is welcome as it will help us work out the bugs over the next week.

-Alan

Re: Beta testers needed

That's pretty nifty. (I've registered as traherom.)

I like the (visual) design for the most part, a couple of things I'd say:
  • The login boxes and buttons at the top are rather hard to see. At the very least, I'd make the text in them some color other than black.
  • Font tags are are close cousins to cancer, AIDS, and the bubonic plague. There's a bunch of them, but if you ever get the chance...
  • I'm not sure what the little bar on the left is, but maybe you could fill the space in between the images with a color...

--EDIT--
I just viewed the page in IE and I see what the bar is. Doesn't work in Firefox:
(Image not relevant anymore.)

--EDIT 2--
Few other things:
  • The forms link at the bottom goes to forums.php, not forum.php as it should.
  • Um... how do you get into the forums? I can't figure it out in Firefox or IE

Thanx for the input, I think reduced opacity will make the longin buttons harder to see. Yea the font tags have been a headace because we also used CSS so i think that has added to the problems with certain web browsers (IE). Oh the little title bar is a button that opens your buddy list, it will open and close by clicking on the image.

Oh sorry I'm working on the forum page as we speak lol. But they can still be accessed by going to the groups link and clicking on NullAgency. As for the two bars, there is supposed to be an ad there but I have no clue why they are not showing up.

Every version of firefox worked the way it was supposed to when they were making it (I watched a lot of it) . Mac, Linux and windows versions all worked next to perfectly. Safari did some odd color things. IE did really stupid things almost randomly. The site works best in Firefox.

I see a flashing "AD GoEs Here". And...well, never mind, it seems you're changing it as I type this.

The links at the bottom don't all work. The links for Profile and Blog send me to a page that says "Invalid User" while the same links at the top take me to the correct place. The Forums link at the bottom still goes to forums.php and not forum.php

I've only looked around so far, but it looks amazing!

Which made me think of why the bar is missing in Firefox... Adblock.

You might want the change the name of that image/folder to something other than "Ad"

Re: Beta testers needed

Thanks everyone who helped test the site. You helped us catch some major bugs before we gave our presentation. My friends and I got an A+ (actually 101%) on our presentation which was over 2 hours and 30 minutes long lol! Not bad for not ever practicing it.
