Odd Hypochondriac Stories

I'd like to take a moment to give some kudos to the hypochondriacs out there. In this thread, I give y'all permission to diagnose yourself! All in humor of course, go to your doctor if you actually have something.

As for myself...to quote Wikipedia...

Quote:
In the fields of psychology and psychoanalysis, Napoleon complex is a colloquial term used to describe a type of inferiority complex suffered by people who are short. Alfred Adler pioneered the psychological work on inferiority complexes, and used Napoléon Bonaparte as an example of someone who he thought was driven to extremes by a psychological need to compensate for what he saw as a handicap: his small stature. The name is somewhat inappropriate, as Napoleon was in fact slightly taller than the average Frenchman of the 1800s.
I think that says it all.

ER and House get me worrying about my health.
And when I got really, really sick recently, I had the joy of an over-active imagination diagnosing myself with all kinds of fun things! Beyond all logic, I entertained the idea of Mono, some new strain of the flu, various infections that simply had to be showing themselves through aches and pains I experienced. The best part was of course my nose, which wouldn't stop running. I couldn't think of anything that could be causing that, that was a real illness.

Re: Odd Hypochondriac Stories

I thought I had mono forever because i was insomniac-ish and always dead tired...and i share stuff with people all the time, my drinks usually end up as the communal drinking fountain. and then i swear i am somewhat dyslexic becuase sometimes i read things backwards. of course, i could just be a really tired geek . but it's really freaky when you read things wrong and then you realize it, like this one time i read a stop sign as pots....and then i was like 'whoa mom it says pots!' and she was like 'uuuhhhhhhhhh....i think u need to get more sleep'

Re: Odd Hypochondriac Stories

I work for a company where I deal with homeowners all the time and this woman called me a few months back wooried that she could be seriously ill. Of course I run to get my boss on the phone with me only to find out that she thought that she had contracted rabies from a tomato that was on her balcony that a squirel bit and she touched.

We later found out she was a hypochondriac.
