senior of 2006 r we ready?

class of 2006

Are we really ready to take on the role of leadership for the 2006 robotics team ? And show new and older members of our teams that we can teach them.

Re: senior of 2006 r we ready?

OK, I'm 2007er but in my honest opinion you guys are ready.

You've had about 3 years of great experience (some times a little less) 2005, and 2004 had it too. They managed to pull it off, so whats stopping you guys from doing the same? Go out their and lead all the teams to the best season FIRST has ever had, I'm sure nobody will stop you from letting it happen. So go and lead your teams, and if you need help ask for it. Someone somewhere can always answer it.

Re: senior of 2006 r we ready?

I'm really looking forward to being a senior. On my team, the class of 2006 is gigantic, and immensely dedicated. The talent level in our grade is tremendous, mainly because the class of 2006 is seeing a lot of changes happen, such as International regionals (like 2005 did) and the development of other programs.

Good luck, class of 2006 . There are scholarships out there, so think of all the underclassmen around you and go be a mentor, so that their senior year can be just as amazing as yours.

Re: senior of 2006 r we ready?

Our class has grown over the years... we started with 4 students (myself included) and we have grown to at least 5 or six times that now.
Personally, I am definitely ready to help lead my team. This year I was the driver and "Most Dedicated" for our team. Next year, as Genia said, will be an awesome one, with huge potential.

Re: senior of 2006 r we ready?

With 14 seniors leaving and 14 seniors coming up it's a nice trade off. The switch has already begun with the newly appointed leaders taking charge of activities and outreach for the rest of the year. Sure the current senior help a little but they try not to so that we (06') can get used to things. Huge changes I know will take place, and it will be less of the effort of just one person and more of a group. To me this is the class the has really stepped up when the time came. So next year will be awesome no matter what!!!

On 294, we face a different challenge for the class of 2006. 75% of our team is in the class of '06 and we need to recruit like mad in order for the team to survive. We do have some plans, but we need to pull something major together in a hurry in order to make the team be self-sustaining again.

We're kinda in the same pinch here :-/

The good news is that next year will be the first full year that the freshmen are at the same school as the rest of the students (Previously our school system was K-6, 7-9, 10-12 but is now K-6, 7-8, 9-12), and every september there is a big "Club day" where all of the clubs set up displays. I'm going to try to arrange to have our robots of past there . Hopefully we can lure in some newbies.

Re: senior of 2006 r we ready?

If I haven't been ready, I won't be ready now. This past year, being the only student leader (who happened to be on the Commuications/Pins and Apparel/Chairman's Award team), not only did nothing get accomplished that I would have liked to seen accomplished, but I was promptly ignored by both teachers when I suggested new ways of getting people involved with the robotics program and promoting the team in the school.
No offense to any of the adult leaders or team members, but most people are afraid to have things change... even so much as a team name. It's taken me three years to get RoboDutch to catch on.
I don't know why any of my other ideas aren't catching on. They keep on telling me I'm the one that's going to change Team Spirit, and nothing gets done with the suggestions I give them.

*leaves the pulpit*

Hopefully this year won't be as difficult. I would like my senior year to be better than the past three.
