Re: C Book

I've been learning C the past few weeks and I have borrowed a book from a class mate titled Sam's Teach Yourself C in 24 hours. Honestly I've found myself getting more use out of resources from on-line. One of the most useful tools I've found is actually on the Chief Delphi white pages in a programing zip file from team 342. I also have gotten use out of a web site I found on another thread here (can't find thread again) which is http://cprogramming.com/ .

If you don't need a book you may want to hold on to your money for a week or so and try out some free resources. Otherwise I can recommend the one I previously mentioned, but I haven't read the one you have a link to.

Re: C Book

Normally I would reccommend an O'Reilly book, but in this case I'm obliged to mention The C Programming Language. Buy it. You won't regret it

Re: C Book

Although it's both C and C++, I'd recommend "C++: The complete Reference" by Schildt. It's a great book which covers the details of both languages. The first half of the book is dedicated to standard C only, then it gets in to C++.

It's expensive, but possibly the best book I've ever bought.

Thumbs up Re: C Book

I very much agree with Jon.

The C Programming Language is THE definitive programming reference and textbook for C. It was written by the creators of the C language and is generally referred to as K&R (after its creators, Brian Kernighan, Dennis Ritchie).
