Of the list, for machine I pick 121. Having played against them in the nationals and barely escaping with our lives I can say from experience that they have a great machine and a well structured team.

For team itself both Buzz and TJ2 fill the bill- both teams with great spirit and attitude. Both have good robots but, in my opinion, not surpassing Rhode Warriors.

However the question above should probably be- who is the best team/robot at Battlecry? As I see it the list is a bit short and a bit biased.....

Wink

Buzz rocks!!! they had an awesome robot and a great team. i'm really glad we got to team up together at UTC and also happy of playing against them at the nationals. Overall 175 is the best team out there (in my opinion), there were also some other great robots such as 157 aztechs (played w/ them at LI, great guys and brilliant machine), 121 (can't wait to see you at WPI), 716(their 2nd year and made it all the way to the division finals at Nats), and of course my dawgs of 271!!! we rocked this year!!!...

639!!!

I also like 121, there's nothing like picking up 40 balls in 30 seconds.

My vote

My vote for the best team in the northeast would have to be-

4. 237 Tribe, One of the best teams to work with, they are listening, and have great gracious professionalism!!! go tribe, see ya at battlecry!

3. 121 the Islanders, they helped us win Riverrage last year, plus they have an awsome bot.

2. 131 Central, They are one of our close teams that we have known for a realllllly long time!! oh yeah congrats on chairmans!

1. 151 Wildcards, now note that this is an opinion, but we have won every award that first has given out, plus every year we make a really strong showing at comps. eliminated in the semi's at nationals, with 254, 138. This was a really good showing for every one to see!!!

Ok. What the about the REALLY north east teams? The candian ones? There are 4 canadian teams who I would say are really excellent. 188 Woburn Collegiate, 610 Crescent Robotics, 771 Kinetic Knights and 865 Warp 7. The final 3 won the canadian regional with some excellent robots. All 3 of theses robots had excellent drive systems and won every match through a combination of force and excellent driving and strategy. Although the last 2 are rookie teams and we (610) only have 2 years experience, our robots were very solid. We beat out many teams like 233, think pink.

And Bilizzard (188) has palced well over all the years. They won the regional chairman's for thier massive ammounts of work with other schools.

I think next year with a bit of experience, there is going to be a major "force from the north" (as blizzrd likes to say). There are some amazing schools in Canada in both the public and private areas that will be very competative in the years to come.

and thats all i have to say about that
Thanks for choosing us! (sniff, a tear runs down my cheek)

I'd choose:

95, because the're robot eats soccer balls like Krispy Kremes, we're talking 40 balls per match, easy...

25, because they have one cool machine, with great hooks, and good Tropical team uniforms

AND

The technocats(45) and CD (47) becuase they have such awesome drive systems. (they are'nt northeast, i know) but i had to put em in...

Just my 2...(how does one do the cent sign thingy?)

I MYSELF...

I really like team 121 also. they did a good job at the regionals and had a great bot! I also think that tribe was a good team. They really had a rugged bot like ours. though ours was stronger we descided to push them perpendicular to their drivetrain (and drivers know what i am talking about), so we were unable to move them. But their meathook claw disign really worked well (though not to our advantage)

like i said in another thread....... new england is a hot spot for high quality FIRST robots

we have all the vets

typically, the NE regional and the midwest regional are the most competitive.... theres a few others getting up there though, like mid atlantic

its definitly a task to try to decide which robot is the best... are you going to base it on performance, strategy, individual mechanisms? there could never be any kind of formal rating system..... those who scout well just know

ive seen so many awesome robots with one weakness that brought them down, or a strategy mistake
ive also seen other teams make up for robot weakness with strategy and driving
we all know that luck can turn against us as well... im sure every team has had it happen to them

based on all that, how can it be decided who is better? it cant.... and thats why there is a network of mutual respect amongst us all

I think buzz is the better team. Just for the simple fact that they offer assistance and even hands when it is needed. My team was honored to be Buzz's and Chucks Partners out in the Nationals and to be selected by Buzz and i think was either team 84 or 61 that chose us @ the PA robot Challenge. Buzz had a very good Robot this year one that was able to take at least 80% of all balls on the field with no problems. we would be glad to work with buzz anytime.

2001- PA Robot Challenge 4 Champions
2001- CT Bash at The Beach Bicentennial Award

Go BUZZ !!!

I think Team 522 the robowizards is also a great team to be apart of because we are able to maintain a schedule that involves us to be in two places at once (fundraising and competition)/ and because we build robots to LAST. our 2001 Robot "WILMA" much to other teams surprise is still running and is currently in a museum on display for the summer months. WILMA has not stopped traveling since MT.Olive Mania of last Year. She has met the mayr did baggings @ supermarkets. went to openhouses at Intermediate schools, graduations and demonstrations for kids and adults of all ages. Now she's in a museum with 3 other lucky robots from FIRST. pictures of them and WILMA will be posted @ Http://robowizards.free-1.com or Http://www.robowizards.com Dorothy will be doing WILMA's job soon enough. Our robotics team gets recognition from all who has met and competed with us.

Best Team in the Nor'east

I Believe that team 151 is the best team in the northeast. They have been around for 10 years and have been one of the most competeive teams in the nation for most of those 10 years. Also, they are a good team to have worked with this season (and hopefully for a long time after this year)
