Boy, I haven't touched a lego part since .... well since last night actually. The alumn's of 2004 FLL #16(Martian Exchange Students) have been getting parts together so they can do a workshop up at EAA in Oshkosh tomorrow for the Civil Air Patrol Cadets. They'll doing a mini 'Mission Mars' Tournament.

Re: FIRSTers and Legos
I LOVE Lego's. i have played with them since i was a wee lad. when i hit 7th grade i joined the Lego robotics team. we did horrible that year but we bonded and worked hard, that is also when i adopted the motto DON'T USE TREADS! My 8th grade year i again was part of the team. This went a lot better. we designed one slick little robot. since it was the mission mars game the Martians were well equipped to handle it. We designed a cage that would drop down on the rover and carry it back to base. we finished third at our regional and in the top 20 in the state. Now i find time to mentor the two Goodrich Middle School teams and learn them some Lego's. Also me and my friend built the field for a rookie team in oxford at Clear Lake Elementary. I have loved Lego's all my life that when i heard that they were in financial trouble i almost broke down and cried.

Re: FIRSTers and Legos
I stole all of my little brother Andy's legos and played with them myself... I can still hear my mother screaming becuase one flew into the vaccuum and broke it!
I remember at the beginning of the month taking a few out of town FIRSTers to the LEGO store in Woodfield mall and 'lil Gach and I having to drag them out because they were a little to interested in the over 3000 piece star wars model. |

Re: FIRSTers and Legos
Lego and Etch-a-Sketch...man, those were the days. Of course, I didn't have FIRST back then so it doesn't really count
Ooooo do you remember Lincoln Logs?!?! Now those were cool. I mean, you had to have the Lincoln Logs. you could build little cabins and boxes and chairs and robots and transmissions and...well maybe not those last two, but you could build with them! i had so much fun...*digs lincoln logs and legos out of closet and sits on floor to play* |
