Yep, stuff (matter/energy) is literally created, briefly, out of nothing. In physics, this is called a quantum vacuum fluctuation. Some of these particles (e.g., positrons) even behave as though they were traveling backwards in time. Physics can be fun <grin>.

i find it interesting that measurements, time, mass, distance, and weight don't actually exist they are all misconceptions of the human mind (as i understand it this is a fact of quantum physics that allows crazy things like a particle to exist in two places at the same time)
