I just realized i forgot to rotate the picture before i posted it!
Anyway as i said the arm utilizes a geared cable system (more recommended than rope ) bought from http://sdp-si.com. This worked remarkably well. We used a window motor to lift and lower our arm and another one in the back to rotate the pulley. Overall this system was amazingly light (except for the giant U piece of aluminum which wasn't really needed). We could track with the camera just didn't have the time to write a program interfacing it with the motors but we are working on one now! ![]() |
