Re: Sync Magainze article about Gunn Robotics Team ... Do adults ruin the game? GRT 1

Allright, i know its a shame that gunn came to its demise, but can we please give them some decency and move on?? I mean seriously, there have been three threads about this, both prior having multiple complaints about the nature of the thread, so why are we kicking a dead horse? Personally, i think that all of you who keep trying to bring this up need to just let it die.

As for the adult topic in here, every team is different. Some need the adult leadership that students just cannot offer at this point in their lives, and other adults who take it upon themselves to make their robot a winning robot and never let the kids try to lead. Yet somehow, the second phase of that adult mentor seems to work in its own and twisted way, kids are still learning about engineering by watching.

So do i believe that adults ruin first? NO, all i say is that they sometimes might take it a bit too far and 'overstep their "boundaries"'. Meaning FIRST wasnt designed to have adults build robots, yes help is ok, but if FIRST wanted adults to build robots, they would have had a different competition.

just my $.02
