At the capital clash, we did:
"birds on three, 'birds on three 1, 2,3, 'BIRDS!"
I think I suprised my team with how loud I could scream...

Re: Pre Game ritual

We've got a couple of traditions on Team 1114. The first is the "Ric Flair" chant. It's something that I've always done, that's caught on with the entire team. After I'm finished giving some sort of speech, I'll yell out "and in the words of Ric Flair..." and the rest of the team and myself respond "wooooooooooo". This past season it was led by Derek or myself before every match.

The other tradition which is only really done when I'm field coaching is my bird impersonations. It's one of those wonderful things that you really need to witness to understand, but they're quite accurate impersonations... Kacaw....

Re: Pre Game ritual

Team 662 went with the Rambo theme, (You all know the Rambo, right? That one guy with the bandanna and the explosive arrows?) Anyways so the entire team had some blue and red bandannas and just before our match we'd all done the color of the team we were on and start screaming some cheers, we were always on the floor when our team went up. We were one of the loudest teams there, as evidenced by everyone's sore voices by finals.

On MOE we always do the MOE cheer
We do it before the match, after the match during the match walking to and from the match basically we do it all the time.

well usually i just start dancing around like an idiot and depending on the mood of the other driver and the hp, we might start some kind of disco-boogy-funk-off, other than that its usually quiet and anticipation

Re: Pre Game ritual

hmmm.... we always have a chant. Last year it was this OH WAAY OH WAAY... ect. We created one this year for next season, Oak ton robots! We rock the Lanctots! (we got a pair of crazy twins called the Lanctots! Great guys both of them! Kinda like our internal team mascots.) Go ohmies! Go ohmies! We also made a giant Ohm symbol in the stands!! OH AND THE BEST ONE YET!! We had a kid who was great at break dancing! I posted a movie and pictures somewhere but he left and i don't think we have anybody else to fill in... The nice thing is our team is pretty visable (large numbers + black/lime shirts = lots of recognition)

Re: Pre Game ritual

Back when I was on 71, thre two drivers, HP, and one coach would stand in a circle with both hands in the middle. The three kids would start jumping up and down while the HP (usually) would give a pre-match pep talk. He'd go over the goals of the match or whatever. At the end he'd give a "Team on 3...1..2...3...TEAM" as we all stopped jumping and threw our hands down. Then everyone would pound fists with everyone else and take positions. In eliminations, we would get all three teams in the huddle, go through the pep talk, and do the big "TEAM on 3" before going into our jumping huddle.

Sometimes the rest of the team would split into two groups on the side of the field and have a "Yeah" ware. The two sides would alternate, "YEAH....YEAH...YEAH...YEAH....YEAH...YEAH...YEAH. ..YEAH..." and everyone together would end with an, "OH YEAH!!!" Those could get quite loud.

lol yes, don't forget about us, we liked the impressions too!

our "chant" is usually done a the start of a match, when they are announcing the team numbers. when they say 1503 "spartonics!" we do a "1,2,3 SPARTEK" kinda thing. Spartek is the name of our robot.

Re: Pre Game ritual

Our team ritual was to get everybody into the pit, or to take all of the members into our section of the bleachers and Give a "1, 2, 3, PANTHERS!"

Me personally as a driver, my ritual was to slam a red bull before every match, which I would highly discourage. You figure sometimes you have 6 matches in one day, and they can be pretty close together. We had 2 matches right in a row, and all I can remember is that I kept screwing up because I couldn't keep my hand still or straight on the controls.

Re: Pre Game ritual

On our Vex team, Mini-Stang, a few other members of the drive team and I used to do the Good luck dance... that was basically us waving with our palms out and screaming "DO THE GOOD LUCK DANCE" to eachother. It didn't help much though.
