I don't own one either. But, I wish to get one becuase I like to travel and it'd be nice to have on a train ride or flight...or even to plug into my car stereo. Needless to say, its on the top of my Xmas list also, along with the Nikon 5200.

The most MP3 player I own is a 256MB Creative MuVo TX FM.

http://www.creative.com/products/pro...product=9 771

If they made them bigger than 1GB, it would be better than an Ipod NANO anyday.

Who doesn't like combos?

MP3 player
USB drive
Voice recorder
FM radio and recorder

Best of all you don't need a stinking cord to download stuff to the player.

Technically, the iPod is two of those, and it can do the other ones with accessories. I hypothesis that the reason why the headphone port is on the bottom of the iPod Nano is so that accessories can use the dock port to control it, now that the remote port is gone.

The things that the iPod really, really has going for it is that they are a bit of a fad right now, and that iTunes is the most amazing program ever created. I can explain to non-techies how to use iTunes. How do you explain to someone how to use Windows Media Player to sync their Digital Audio Player?

I too am disappointed to see that the iPods are dropping in size while staying the same in price. Still, that thing is soo sweet.
I <3 my 40gig Photo though.

Re: Apple Killed the iPod Mini

Wowie, that's a beaut. Now I feel bad that I was so greedy at the end of May and coughed up all of my spare change (literally) to buy a green mini. At least its 6GB...and a bit of a rarity

Re: Apple Killed the iPod Mini

Dang, that is small!

Here is the thing. Why not get a reqular old iPod? Personally, I like the bigger iPod, and now that I can pick one up for less than $200, the iPod Nano isn't too appealing. I don't need a color screen to look at album art or watch video. I can watch video on a PSP pr just wait to get home, and I usually aquire my music through *herm* "other means". That takes up too much space. I just want a regular old iPod. They still fit in my pocket, and hold alot of data.

But maybe the iPod Nano is meant to go head-to-head with the GBA Micro =P

The problem is you can't buy an iPod without a color screen anymore. Unless you purchase a Shuffle, but then you don't get any kind of screen. You technically can't watch video on iPods so you wouldn't buy one to do that and I'm not really sure why you would compare the nano with the GBA Micro. The reason I purchased a nano is mainly because my second generation iPod's battery is pretty much dead (less than 2 hours on full charge) and I'm too impatient to wait for the settlement to go through or buy a replacement to replace the old battery.

Re: Apple Killed the iPod Mini

It's kind of upsetting that they killed the mini, I really wanted one, it was just the right size. The nano is way too small, I feel like I'll break it.
My roommate bought one, today, and it's really really small, I feel like I'm going to break it every time I touch it.

I e-mailed my dad and told him to go buy a mini while they're still in stock in stores and give it to me for christmas. I really hope he does.

Oh, really? Crap. I guess I could try Froogle or Ebay. But I need the money to buy an Xbox360...

Stupid Apple and their expencive hippity-hop playing machines.

NOTE: Please percieve that last comment as sarcasm.

I've found discounted (like $20 off) iPods without the color screen at my local Apple "Store". It's one of those stands at my mall like Verizon and stuff has. Most things have to eb ordered at the store, and will be delivered. But yeah, I know they had them, dunno if they still have any left (or any one does for that matter).
