Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

Hey

After thoroughly searching I’ve found no reference to there being a Bash at the beach held this year. And I was just curious if anyone from the area/teams that run it could tell me if it is in fact taking place this year, and when the approximate time frame would be. I know it’s early but we're just trying to plan our fall for when we get back to school. Thanks a lot.

Re: Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

Thre are two teams that normally host the bash at the beach. Team 236 (Techno Ticks) and Team 521 (Waterford, CT robotics team). They are both sponsored by Dominion Nuclear Connecticut who is the sponsor of the Bash at the Beach.

Re: Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

I have heard there are certain rules about who can drive robots at these events. Are there any restrictions such as maximum age that are not the same as the rules FIRST enforces in this area or is it just that a student must drive?

Re: Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

While not speaking from experience at that event, in every off season I've ever heard of, watched via Webcast or attended, same rules as FIRST. (generally graduating seniors are allowed to drive).

Re: Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

Yes it is October 8th. Generally time was from like 8am to about 5 or 6pm. From what I know there are no certain restrictions, but yea I would check the site. My team last year let rookie drivers drive our robot, like freshman who just joined the team an that was their first event..that was scary, but they never told us we couldnt. I would recommend going if you are interested it's an awesome off-season competition an is loved by alot of people!!

Updated information can be found at www.batb.us - registration is now open. NEMO is grateful to the teams who are organizing this event to allow us to host a workshop at it. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Re: Bash at the Beach 2005 ??

I just got the news, although it was just alotta screaming and shrieking by Ashley and Scott, that 237, 181, and 1511 won over 228, 803, and 839.

Congrats to all.
