Question Using another module to program the Vex

i wanna program the PIC18F8520 using another programming module which is called leaper-48 universal writer , it supports

but not the PIC18F8520 ,,, anyone think it will work on the PIC18f8520 of the Vex ??

In theory, it should, assuming you can interface the Vex kit and the LEAPER-48:

Are you planning to open up the vex module, desolder the PIC, and stick it in the programmer?

Realize also that while the 8520 is very similar to other PICs that programmer does support, the pinout and packaging is completely different.

My answer is that it won't work without a significant time investment on your part.
