**FIRST EMAIL**/Autodesk Software Donation, Inventor Training and Awards Information

Greetings Teams:

We are very pleased to announce that Autodesk, for the FIFTEENTH straight year, will once again sponsor the FIRST Robotics Competition!

Autodesk's long-standing support of FRC places it among the most loyal and dedicated sponsors of the program. Their level of support
has also grown significantly over the years, making it one of FRC's most generous sponsors.

Please join us in thanking the entire Autodesk team for their role in the continuing growth and impact of FRC!

Autodesk Software Donation:

This year, each team will receive:
3ds Max 8, our award-winning 3D modeling, animation, and rendering solution, hot off the presses. You can install it on up to five (5) computers this year! For technical specifications please visit: www.autodesk.com/3dsmax
But wait, there's more:
Autodesk Inventor Professional 10 will also be sent to each team. Go ahead, install it on up to 10 computers this year! (If you need to install Inventor on more than 10 computers, there will be instructions in the Autodesk kit on how to submit a request for additional installations.) Autodesk Inventor is the world's best selling 3D mechanical design software. For technical specifications, please visit: www.autodesk.com/inventor
Installation and usage guidelines will be included with the software in the Autodesk kit.

The Autodesk kits (containing the software) will be sent starting the end of October to registered teams. Each kit will be sent to the Shipping
Contact address provided by the team when registering for FIRST.

Autodesk Inventor Hands-On Training:

Registration is now open for the free Autodesk Inventor Hands-on Training. Register at www.autodesk.com/first-training.

Space is extremely limited and available on a first-come, first served basis. You will receive a confirmation email if your registration is received and space is available. If space is not available, you will be put on a waiting list in case anyone cancels.

IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE TRAINING, PLEASE SEND A CANCELLATION EMAIL to Anthony Theos at Anthony.theos@autodesk.com or Kelly Stanphill at Kelly.stanphill@autodesk.com.

So does this mean we wont be getting the whole autodesk package like last year (26 licenses for AutoCad/Mechacical Desktop/etc.), and just be getting the 10 of Inventor?

Either way, the five copies of 3ds max r0x0rs.

Yes, the 5 copies of Max shows that after years of requesting enough copies for all animators, Discreet is finally listening. Keep bringing up those requests in the FIRST followup meetings once the season concludes -- they do pay off sometimes.

Now, if only they develop an annual theme for animators instead of the constant they have been using. You don't see the engineers playing the same robot game each year.
