Competitions other than First Vex Regionals

Because FIRST is only have a few Vex regional competitions I was wondering if anyone else would be having there own competitions and where they would be. I think it would be great if in areas where there is no "official" FIRST regional teams could still get together and compete.

Every year since 1998, Team 190 has held a miniature robot competition called Savage Soccer. The competition uses either the Vex or the EDU kits and will kickoff on November 5th and run to December 3rd, when the competition is scheduled. See this website for more information about Savage Soccer.

There will be one on 12/10/05 in the Southern California area. I believe it will be at CSUN in conjuntion with an FLL tournament. Details are being finalized and will be posted soon.

Re: Competitions other than First Vex Regionals

Anything a single person with a Vex starter kit could compete in? Around the Long Island area?

I'm a FIRST relic of sorts, I remember when we used PBASIC and we got CH Flightsticks in the KoP. In my day we didn't have motorized carts, we pushed our robots uphill, both ways! (Houston 2003!)

That is correct. Savage Soccer has switched over to VEX this year and will feature autonomous and manual modes in the same match. There is no cost to participate and it is a lot of fun. Questions about Savage Soccer may be sent to savage@wpi.edu and we will try to answer them as fast as possible. Last year we had 14 teams we hope to have many more this year. Team registration can be found at http://users.wpi.edu/~savage/Teams/register.html
