Go to Post I walked out to the area where the robot was getting ready to move, and there's no room near the robot. I look again, and realize it's all students. - rachakate [more]

Good Night, and Good Luck.

"(CNN) -- George Clooney has the greatest commodity anyone can have in Hollywood -- clout -- and he's not afraid to use it.

This time, Clooney has used that leverage to make "Good Night, and Good Luck." It's a small-budgeted movie ($8 million, peanuts in today's Hollywood) with a big topic: the historic battle between the legendary CBS newsman, Edward R. Murrow, and Senator Joseph McCarthy. In 1954, Murrow devoted an episode of his show "See It Now" to McCarthy, and in doing so helped hasten his downfall."

Has anyone had a chance to see this new movie "Good night, and good luck"?

I don't usually post in the chit chat, but I feel I must say something about this movie I saw last night. First of all, you should know that this movie is in black and white. Second of all, this piece of film is easily one of the best I've ever seen. Their use of shadows and lighting is simply amazing. I am not a big fan of black and white movie, but that didn't matter one bit. The picture looked so good I kept looking all over the screen to see what different things look like.

But even that wasn't too important when I got hooked into its story. All I can say is, it blew me away. The intellectual depth of it is amazing, and the story compelling. The speeches used in that movie was so well crafted that I wish my writing is as good as they are. I know I will never write that good, not unless I devote all my time to learning to write and think.

As a whole, all the elements of the movie worked together wonderfully. The camera angle, the black and white, the casts, the story, the quick humor in between, the music... It's just very refreshing finding such a good quality movie when, well, let's just say I am not fond of many of the movies out right now, though I do have to confess that I plan to see "Doom" sometime this weekend.

Anyway, just want to recommend this film in case you've missed it. This film probably isn't going to get as much publicity/popularity as many of the other major pictures.

And if some of you have watched it, just want to share my opinions, and hopefully hear yours as well.
