Lettering

Hi. I am from team 1108. I was just wondering about lettering requirements for Robotics at the high school level.

Re: Lettering

As the thread he gave you eventually shows, lettering is school dependent. Talk to your robotics coach and/or the principal of your school to try to work something out.

Since you more than likely don't have varsity and junior-varsity teams, you might want to make it something like never missing more X meetings or find some other measure of dedication/contribution.

Re: Lettering

I wish more schools would offer lettering for robotics. It would boost participation.

Yes, part of your requirements should involve a minimum level of participation. Don't use a negative like "can't miss more than X meetings", use a positive spin "must complete X number of hours"

Good Luck

Re: Lettering

On team 48 this past year our seniors got letters, since we depend on your grades and academic record for travelling we used those as our base guidelines, if I remember correctly it was something like attend at least 2 of the competitions that we went to, and have been an active member for at least 2 years or have made a major contribution in your 1 year.

Re: Lettering

our school does not have an offical letter, but we(the team) are in the process of getting a patch-type thingy that we can put out ourselves, not through the school at all.
