Re: Served Raw Chicken at Burger King.
As to the raw chicken, well that's probably just someone not paying attention in the kitchen. To whomever was talking about the order not being correct, welcome to outsourcing. Coporate America has found out it is cheaper to have someone in India listen to your order, type it on a computer screen and send it back to the store. And yes, this is true.

Re: Served Raw Chicken at Burger King.
That's just raunchy, dude. I would be careful as to what I order from there if I were you...
What bothers me about fast food is that they don't care at all. They make your order wrong like 80% of the time and sometimes they're extremely rude and unenthusiastic. If I worked there, I would turn the place completely around (if any of you know me personally, you don't doubt me). I'm cautious these days and it's better to be there inside while they make it so you can kinda' see what they're doing, and whether or not they include everything you ordered. I try to go inside as much as possible. |

Re: Served Raw Chicken at Burger King.
there is a definate balance in fast food
you want your food handed to you within 60 seconds but you want it to be excellent, and exactly what you asked for served up by people making minumum wage so its as cheap as possible. Clearly the raw chicken was a mistake, but in general, if you want really good food and excellent service, you will have to pay more to get it (at a nice sit down resturant). |

I've worked on two occasions at Sonic Drive-In. Most of that time was spent in the drive-thru. Ask anyone, I know how to work that headset. And virtually every day I worked the drive-thru, I would come home and collapse. Why? People that come through fast-food drive-thrus drain the life out of me. Call it inability to read the menu, the assumption that tater tots cost extra, or just a hunch that I'm supposed to read minds, but there is something about that job that will make even the peppiest person drag themselves to the car at the end of the day. (As a result, I'm willing to give quite a bit of latitude to fast-food workers that show that fire for their job, or even the embers of such a fire.) What's a person to do? I vote with my dollars. Take Carolina Dining as an example. In my year and a half on campus, I've figured out which eateries offer good service and good food. I've had good luck with Taco Bell, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and Gibbes Court, so do you know where the sweeping majority of my meal plan swipes are logged? Taco Bell, Einstein Bros., and Gibbes Court. Granted, whereever I go, Sodexho gets my money. However, dealing with their management over Preston Dining (which, since we have to eat there for dinner, we can't vote with dollars over) has shown me that they still want their locations to get as much business as they can. And believe it or not, the locations with sales get improved (Einstein Bros. is getting renovated over break to increase its production capacity), while those that don't do as well tend to, as they put it, "go away." (There was a Cinnabon down on the first floor of the Russell House, but it was only getting a few dollars a day after its first semester. It's now a sub place.) |

heres the question: if some cute girl had invited you over for dinner, and served you raw chicken would you A. gobble it down and tell her it was the best meal you've ever had ? or 2. Pull out your cell phone, photograph the chicken, and run home and post it on your blog? |

Re: Served Raw Chicken at Burger King.
Normally, I go inside to place an order becuase it's nicer talking face to face with the person taking your order....unless I'm really in a hurry or looking like a mess (after say machining all afternoon). However, I always check my order before I leave to make sure it is right though, it sucks getting all the way home to discover you have something completely different than what you ordered, or its completely wrong.
