I think he means it gets incredibly confusing to glance at one of these charts and figure out where teams in the Loser's Bracket were originally in the Winner's Bracket.

Something tells me TechnoKats still have some more things that they haven't posted yet...

Re: pic: 1992 champs bracket

TechnoKats might just have 15yrs worth of things to post - however, most files are too large and not .jpgs. Let me know when CD allows 10mb .pdf files to be posted.

We hope to have much of the interesting finds posted on our website www.technokats.org in the coming weeks/months.

I am not sure the exact year actual team numbers started - but I know they changed every year up 'til 1998. We were team 1 (I just saw that in a printed out old school email from FIRST to our team - or maybe it was a fax), and also 31 at some point (not sure what others we were)... But in 1998, you got a number, and that's what you've had ever since. Can you imagine what it'd be like if we continued to change numbers every year? G's.

It's funny to watch the old videos from '92, '93 etc where they didn't use team numbers in announcing, so they always went by the school name and team name. Was confusing and long-winded.

I also found an old school email (from '94 maybe) where FIRST announced they finally had a website address (which was slightly different than it is now), and in the same breath said "email is new to us, bear with us"... haha..

Yeah - and btw - I believe there's only 7 of those 28 still remaining as-is today.

I'm guessing that Kokomo/Delco is the present-day 45, and Wilson/Xerox is 191, but that's all I can pick out off the top of my head.

Anyone else see anything? There ought to be 5 more.

Here's what I could decipher

Clinton/Nypro = 126
Wheeling/Motorola = 111
Doherty/WPI = 190
Central/NH Tech = 131
Shenen Dehowa/RPI = 20/250 (There was a split at some point, I forget the details)
Dallas C/E-Systems = 148 (E-Systems may have switched High Schools to Greenville HS at some point)
Nashua/FerroFL = 151

That's cool, I guess there's more than 7 teams still around, then, 7 being the number FIRST quotes on the Championship Criteria page. I suppose they're not taking mergers and splits into account (for example, 111's rookie year is listed as 1996; I assume that's because that year Wheeling HS came together with Rolling Meadows HS to form a team).

Yup, Pat. I think the case of WildStang, they took a few years off, hence why they aren't afforded original team status.
