FREE Autodesk Inventor Training

Unfortunately, they scheduled it on the same day as the SCRRF workshops. We will probably be putting in our reservations for the 2006 workshops this week. On the SCRRF end, the date was not changable by the time they announced the workshops.

I would have loved to go and would have except I had a few responsibilities at the workshops. I am thinking about a drive to Cupertino though ...

Thanks for the review. I knew you were going and wanted to ask and see if the drive would be worth it. It sounds like it will be.

THe only problem with the Va one at VCU is that the SAT II's are on the same day....

THis presents are real conundrum for me...

In addition to scheduling issues there are also geographic barriers for many of us. Sorry to repeat from another thread ...

It is a shame that the training isn't available to a more geographically diverse group. Most of us won't have an opportunity to effectively utilize many of the enhancements. You really don't have the time to stumble through a new learning curve with that 6-week deadline bearing down. At a minimum an early distribution of the software would be a huge help. And some type of web-based sessions or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to improve the Inventor competition submissions would be to enable greater competency among the students. While the workshops provided this year are certainly incredibly helpful and very much appreciated, they will only reach a tiny minority of FIRST participants ... Hello ... FIRST and Autodesk ... Are you listening ??

Sorry to repeat the question but I am very interested in attending, however I do not have any teacher that can go with me. Can I go by my self or maybe with another team mate? Did anyone see if they were letting the students participate without a teacher?

The instructor at the training I attended said the Official FRC Inventor 10 tutorials that are used in the trainings are available on Streamline/buzzsaw.

I suspect Autodesk would have to answer that question for you. I would suggest going to the registration page (linked above) then select "Contact Us" and phone or email to get an answer. Good luck - it sounds like something you could really benefit from.

Dave,
The attendance is a recommendation but if the classes are not filling up they will make exceptions. Contact them for the latest info on the training in your area. Never turn down a free educational experience.
