banner ads and the like

Now that the issue hits a little closer to home, I thought I'd bring up something that I've started to notice. It seems that I've learned to ignore embeded ads. Whether it be the banner at the top of CD or the stuff next to articles in the newspaper, I've learned to ignore them. If I'm looking at a website, I'll see every article and menu but for some reason, I can tell that something is an ad and ignore it without even reading it. When I'm looking through the newspaper, I just don't even see the ads anymore, I only see the articles. If I flip to a full page ad, I automatically turn to the next page without even knowing what it was. Actually, there's specific ads that I look for, but I know exactly where they are and look there. Am I just weird, or do other's have this ability as well?

Re: banner ads and the like

Yes, I'm able to avoid ads completely when broswing websites and stuff. I know they are there but I couldn't at all tell you what they were for. However, these CD ads seem quite prominent which is probably what they were shooting for. With how frequently I come on here, I think I'll get somebody with $5 in their Paypal account to make me a "paying" member or whatever it is called so I can save some space on my screen for more desirable parts of the page.
