2006 game poll #5 (type/shape of scoring objects)

Ok, with less than 50 days until kickoff, now's the time to put your VOTE wherever your keyboard fingers will lead you. Here are 10 things we all are dying to know about the game based on the rumors, hints, etc being scattered around the CD site.

Re: 2006 game poll #5 (type/shape of scoring objects)

I loved the tetras last year - the concept was simple yet there were so many different ways to handle them - but we [as in team 418] broke so many of them it wasn't funny. I liked the balls from the year before last, but mainly because there was such a divergence in strategies because of the bar and such a difference in scoring due to human player skill. If FIRST keeps with the theme of 3 robots per alliance, which I think they really should, I would like to see the balls come back (only with a different type of ball) and have more emphasis on handling the balls than dealing with other goals.

Re: 2006 game poll #5 (type/shape of scoring objects)

Maybe it's just coincidental but most of the objects seem to follow the format of the FIRST logo Triangle,Circle, and Square. Too bad it hasn't been too conistent in the order though.

Just about anything placed on the field as a scoring object is going to get broken.

2003- Smashed Bins
2004- Flattened Balls
2005- Broken Tetras
2006- Bent Batons ???

2006unctured Ping Pongs....

I always thought it'd be cool to have to manipulate a hole bunch of balls where you don't really know how your opponent is doing. If this actually makes it however, I apologize in advance. Field cleanup anyone??
