2006 Missing Teams?
I do not see The Gila Monsters (64) or The Fem Bots (692) signed up for any regional events. Has anyone seen or heard from either of these teams?

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
According to the master list of teams, 962 is signed up for at least one event, although I don't know which one it is. You're right, though - the Gila Monsters are nowhere to be found.

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
i personally have not heard anything about those two teams. i hope that they are still building/competing this year. they are two good teams. it would be a shame if they were not.

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
Team 64, the Gila Monsters, is inactive this year. It was a great 8 year run for the Gila Monsters and I will miss all the great people at GM we worked with over the years.
The two schools that comprised team #64 have formed teams. Highland High School is now team #39 and Queen Creek is now team #1013. I am not sure how FIRST decided upon the numbers for the teams. Both teams will compete at the Arizona Regional and the Las Vegas Regional. Ken PS The Gila Dance is not finished! |

Team 64 has actually split into two teams - the two schools which made up 64 (Queen Creek and Highland) have each started their own teams for 2006. They have retired the 64 number and will each their own veteran team numbers going forward (based on team numbers from the years those schools started in FIRST). So while "64" will show up as having not come back, they have indeed returned - just as two teams instead of one. The Fembots, Team 692 are in the process of completing their registration and looks as though they are coming back. With the Fembots and a few others, it also looks as though CA will lead the nation in all girls FRC teams again this year. Looks like we will have at least 8 all girls teams, very possibly 9, and might even hit 10! And some more great news, it looks like GRT 192 will also be coming back this year after their hiatus in 2005!!! Along with a number of other returning teams registering over the next few days, California should surpass the 100 team mark for the 2nd consecutive year. With some luck, we hope to exceed 110 teams this year. Michigan and New York are also getting close to 100, so FIRST may have three states with over 100 FRC teams this year!!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, Jason Last edited by Jason Morrella : 22-11-2005 at 16:25. Reason: update |

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
For what it's worth, Team 1120 has registered for Silicon Valley but we'll probably not have the funds to pay the bill when it arrives and will not compete.

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
Right now, it appears that 1650 (Richland One Middle College) here in Columbia is MIA (or at least not coming to Palmetto, Peachtree, UCF, or VCU).

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
well i have the displeasure to announce that team 73 (the visioneers/tigerbolt) is not competing this year. Due to politics involved with the school and sponsor the team does not exist anymore, but we are hopefully for a comeback in '07. In the meanwhile team 1511 has adopted a bunch of the students from the team so that they can still benefit from the program.

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
Unfortunatly, Team 1140, MAGNADONS, won't be competing this year, and i'm not sure about Future years. The good news is that team 68 was gracious enough to accept those of us who used to compete as 1140!

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
Team 1097 of Jesuit High School has dropped FIRST this year and moved to MATES. The underwater program is a better cost effective way to go. There are now 15 regionals and national at the NASA pool in Texas. Our school will have 3 teams and 3 robots competing this year.

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
I don't know about american teams, but we are expecting 26 teams this year in israel (I'm talk daily with the guy in charge of the regional) and so far only 7 are registered at the website (we are 1578!!!!
)so what i basicly wanted to say is that i guess alot of teams are registering late, or maybe the website isn't really updated, or maybe just it isn't updated in regards to israel ![]() -Leav |

Re: 2006 Missing Teams?
Unfotunatly my team, team 783 will not be competing this year or probably any year in the near future. We had a good 4 year run. Unfortunatly our team mentor in our third year left, as well as we lost our major team sponsor. Last year I was able to browbeat another teacher into doing it, but now even she left, leaving my school without a teacher willing to be the team mentor. I am as last year going to be volunteering at a few regionals so for all those of you who know me I won't be gone but for all those of you who knew the team, I'm afraid to say that we're gone, more than likely for good.
