Re: Unofficial vex competition

Thanks for offering this and for posting the info, but for me it seems like more of a conflict to have this on FRC kickoff day. I can see the reasoning, in that you want to get FVC people to watch the FRC kickoff, but for people in FRC and FVC already, it seems like too much for one day.

FVC and FRC in one day, thats not too much, in Canada we have always done a Robovation/Edubot competition and the FRC kick off in the same day! i have attended two of them, as a coach for the Robovation driver.

Nah, what seems like too much is having FRC ship date within a week of FVC's competition date. My team is going to mentor a Vex team this year, but with the competition being so close to ship date we're gonna have to get the Vex team into high gear and finish waaaaay early so we're not pulled in too many directions come crunch time. Just gotta know where your priorities are, no?

Re: Unofficial vex competition

I think that this would be a great opportunity for those interested in FVC to come check out the competition. Not only will there be a competition, but the team has decided to air the kickoff via satellite in their theater. I think this would be an excellent opportunity for FRC teams to get together and talk about the season. There will also be a wrap/kickoff party at the end of the days events. What a great way to get hyped for the years events!
