medals

i wonder if they might give out smaller medals this year so you can put them on a letterman's jacket so you don't need a back brace to wear them?

Something like a pin? You could likely get something made custom for not all that much if you order for the whole team.

FIRST does give out pins to volunteers. You could always volunteer at a regional and get a pin for that.

Re: medals

Why would you want them any smaller? If you win something you can make a jacket or sweatshirt or whatever. The medals are what they're supposed to be, medals, how would they look around your neck if they were small enough to pin to your letterman jacket?
If you want to do that so bad, make your robotics team a varsity sport so you can letter in robotics, in high school, a few kids from my class. I know it's difficult, but it could work, I'm sure there's a thread about it somewhere, I believe our problem was 1. Our administration didn't like the idea 2. Our budget would be included in the varisty budget, meaning we'd bring in about $70,000 (amount we spent, a lot was out of pocket of team members/parents) into the budget and every sport team would get new stuff, and we'd barely be able to register, since our school wasn't too fair with money.

But back to the point, as said before, get your own pins made or something of that nature, a medal is a medal, hanging around your neck, I wouldn't have it any other way. Provokes interest when you wear it in public, as most FIRST related things do.
