Crates for sale

Would any teams out there be interested if our team sold crates athat are extremely light and durable? By light i mean you wont pay overages again.

Some would consider that an open challenge.

Can you provide more specifics? Weight? Durability? Price?

I suspect many teams would be very interested in the plans for such a crate.

Re: Crates for sale

The crates are extremely durable much more durable than plywood because of the material that is used. They are very light with our bot our crate weighed about 260 lbs. I do not yet know about price or whether or not we will build them I wanted to see if there was any interest.

Re: Crates for sale

1155 would be very interested in learning more(ie price), our old crate weighs way too much, is extremely warped and we probably wont get around to building a new one until after ship date for next year.

Re: Crates for sale

I'm curious how much it is going to cost for how much you will be saving. Like, how will the great get from Michigan to oh, say, California? And how do I save when I already have a plywood crate that doesn't cost me anything (except the overage). To make this work, I believe the cost of the crate and getting it to me must be less than the cost of the overage. Otherwise, I see no real benefit.

Re: Crates for sale

We have some specifics to work out yet but after a while of not having to pay overages the new crate has now payed for itself. We have yet to work out the shipping portion.

So, I think this is how it sums up. Many people are interested, but you need to give A LOT more info before anyone with half a brain would commit, such as price, dimensions, weight, durability, etc.

They weigh roughly 80 pounds. They will be built to the max dimensions of 48x48x70. We estimate the cost to be $400-$500 but we have to figure out our costs first and figure out our final design. They are very durable. The material we build the sides out of is a honeycomb and is pretty much puncture proof.(For example we used it on our robot as guards last year.)I posted a pic to prove that it isnt inflatable and it is rigid.
