I'm assuming this is for FRC.

Check out pages 16-17 of this document for information on how to enable and set the additional channels.

Basically you have to set the leftmost bit of the TEAM NUMBER dipswitch on the OI, connect the tether to set the robot to the same team number, and choose the channel with the CHANNEL dipswitch.

Re: communication between the robot controller and the interface

if it is the FRC controllers you must tether both interfaces, power them up, then change the dip switches that are marked as "Team Number" these switches are set in binary. After you change the team number then you can unhook the tether cord and use your radios. In order to run 2 robots you will need 2 R/C radios and controllers, as well as 2 O/I's.

If it is a VEX robot then you will need to remote controls, 2 receivers that are plugged in to your controller(s) and 2 different radio crystals (radio channels/frequencies)
