Feisty Klowns (6-6-0) vs. Cromer Angry Smash (12-0-0) Getting the leagues best team this time of year is a bad touch of luck but the Klowns do have a chance if Simms can make good things happen against teh Saints adn the Lions remember that Kevin Jones is on their roster and feed him the ball ( you'd think that would be a priority with Joey Harrington and a washed up Jeff Garcia behing center). Brunell could be insane today going against a very weak Rams defense while Ben Roethlisberger looks to exploit the shaky Bengals defense who could fall victim to Big Bens play action game if the Steelers have success in the running game. Speaking of the running game the X-Cats fortunes lay on if McGahee, Lamont Jordan and especially Micheal Pittman put up woirthy numbers. Rhode Island Voltaic (9-3) vs.Your Ad Here (8-4) Manning's number have beenup recently but if the Colts get out to a big lead they may just let up. McNair is questionalble for Your Ad Here and may or may not play. If he doesn't this one is settled before it's even begun. Nor Cal Crushers (10-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (4-8) The Crushers bring the pain in this league too and so long as Thomlinson and Westbrook are productive that shouldn't really change but Plummer could struggle today in Arrowhead and that leaves the door open for the Monkey (more like unlocked with the gaurd on break). If Garcia and Dillon don't make it on the field it'll be like going to a race without an engine. [color=royalblue]The Tacoites (7-5) [/color ]vs. Jc's Evil Empire (6-6) Brady vs. Bedsoe. Jones vs. Jackson. So what's the matchuo that could settle this one? How about the Colts D vs. the Titans offense. They could put the Tacoites over the top. Stevies Scapegoats (4-7-1) vs. Feisty Klowns (7-5) Carson Palmer may of may not be bigtime for the Klowns this week but Edgerrin James could be while Fast Willie Parker has to split carreis for the strugling Steelers running game which it doesn't take a genuis to realize what that'll do to his Fantasy production. QC Elite (2-10)vs. sigmakittens (4-8) The kitties need more from Jake Delhome and a god game from C-Mart wouldn't hurt niether but they be more helped by the inability of the (irnoically titled) Elite inability to produce points. Pelan's Bobcats (3-9) vs. hurricanes (5-6-1) The Bobcats could take this one with just Shawn Alexnader and Antonio Gates. Outside of the Pittsburgh Steelrs defense there isn't anyone on the roster really capable of double digit scoring. Dunedain (5-7)vs. IwillCrushYou (5-6-1) IWillCrushYou is stilll in playoff contention and are looking to their backs Portis and Larry Johnson to outperform Thomas Jones and Tiki Barber. Hasselback could make a difference as well but Dunedain needs more form Drew Brees to wi out. FIRSTforce (9-3)vs.Cooney Quest (6-6) FIRSTforce has the best player in their holster, Rudi Johnson but if Pittsburgh stops him cold Cooney QUest could steal it if Brett Farve gets hit and Kevan Barlow gets it together. Tony Gonzalez is a wildcard for FIRST force. Team THRUST (7-5) vs. west coast style (6-6) The worst thing wst Coat Style could do was play Byron Leftwich who is injured while they are in contention for a playoff spot. Because he is gone there is a massive hole in their roster and they are at a disadvantage. If Eli Manning does anything in the snow in the MEadowlands Team THRUST runs away with it. |

Week XIII Postgame Analysis
Rhode Island Voltaic (9-3) d. Your Ad Here (8-4)
70-43 It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. It was YAH making the playoffs; it was YAH getting their butts kicked. Injuries made their only worthwhile scores a 16 from Ward and a 12 from Adrian Wilson. Rhode Island was playing a full squad, including Tampa’s 15, Dante Hall’s 13, Peyton Manning’s (ugh, I actually have to differentiate between the brothers these days) 12, and an overall good offense and defense. But interestingly enough, Rhode Island didn’t really gain anything from this (other than a cool looking five game win streak); YAH still hit the jackpot. Akshar Did It (5-6-1) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-5-2) 67-43 “…Ben Roethlisberger looks to exploit the shaky Bengals' defense who could fall victim to Big Ben's play action game if the Steelers have success in the running game.” We’ll start off by handing a psychic point to Ed. Roethlisberger had 12 for the X-Cats thanks to play-actions, despite losing. “Speaking of the running game, the X-Cats' fortunes lay on if McGahee, Lamont Jordan, and especially Michael Pittman put up worthy numbers.” And there’s the problem: they combined for 5. ADI was running Houshmandzadeh and Tab Perry on the other side, combining for 25. Their defense added a total of 23, and everybody contributed something. We have the first .500 team to lose this week. Nor Cal Crushers (10-2) d. Coco's Monkeys (4-8) 57-56 Lack of a QB killed the Monkeys. Lack of the standard Crusher offense (with the exception of Steve Smith’s 9) and losing Westbrook killed Nor Cal. So what made this game so exciting? Surprisingly, defense. The Monkeys had a respectable 34, but the Crushers kept even with 30. What would finally put the Monkeys in the hole is the fact that Nor Cal had a QB playing. A very close game, but yet another victory for Nor Cal. The Tacoites (7-5) d. Jc's Evil Empire (6-6) 39-28 “Brady vs. Bledsoe.” Brady by 8. “Jones vs. Jackson.” Jones by 4. Both those go to the Tacoites. “So what's the matchup that could settle this one? How about the Colts D vs. the Titans offense. They could put the Tacoites over the top.” Indianapolis took the only decent score of the game with 15, putting the Tacoites over the top, scoring Ed another psychic point, reserving a playoff spot in the Tacoites’ name, and giving a second .500 team a loss this week. Stevies Scapegoats (4-7-1) d. Feisty Klowns (7-5) 54-50 Palmer’s 15. James’s 12. It looked great for the Klowns until they just stopped playing. The Goats took over from there. They started with Brad Johnson’s 12, got a boost from Galloway’s 9, and ended with Antonio Pierce’s 16. But despite the Scapegoats crawling back from the lower tier these past weeks, they still get eliminated from the playoffs. sigmakittens (4-8) d. QC Elite (2-10) 69-48 The Kittens had Seattle on Monday. That was prettymuch the game. It got them 32 points. Add some offensive support, and the Elite just couldn’t top it, even with the Giants’ 18 and Bennett’s 15. hurricanes (5-6-1) d. Pelan's Bobcats (3-9) Who would’ve thought one team could benefit so much from a Buffalo/Miami game? The Cane’s had Losman, Evans, and Chambers for a combined 47. The Bobcat’s main men (Alexander and Gates) combined for 22, and even Green contributed 9. But neither team had much else, making this a low margin, “do the math” scenario. IwillCrushYou (5-6-1) d. Dunedain (5-7) 69-50 Both teams needed this win to stay alive in the playoff race. Dunedain really tried, but beyond a 10 from Brees, there wasn’t anything in the double digits. They’d need those those scores too, because IWCY came loaded with a Larry Johnson 19, a Clinton Portis 18, and a Kaeding 10. IWCY puts themselves closer to a playoff spot while knocking out Dunedain in the process. FIRSTforce (9-3) d. Cooney Quest (6-6) 75-31 A grand total of -5 for the Green Bay dependency on Cooney spelled this one out early. Their greatest achievement was a combined 30 on defense. Actually, it was their only achievement. FIRSTforce didn’t really need Boller’s 9, Mike Anderson and Rudi Johnson’s twin 16s, and Carolina’s 9 (note that they would’ve won with just their RBs). But it looked really pretty, making this the third loss in the .500 bracket. Team THRUST (7-5) d. west coast style (6-6) 42-35 Quite an ugly game for two playoff contenders. WCS’s problem was a 0 from the QB spot, and two more from the receiver slots. Their kicker had their best score with 10. Team THRUST at least had everybody score (albeit with a -2 from their QB). But what clinched the win as well as a playoff birth for them was 9 each from Jason Elam and Ricky Williams. This would also make the fourth loss this week for a .500 team. Code:

We'll now bring the schedule and fantasy scores into play. I highly doubt anybody's going to make up more than 75 fantasy points against another, and 100 is out of the question.

To avoid such a fate the X-Cats are just going to have to do what 13 other opponents failed to do and defeat the Smash. To do that they need Ryan Fitzpatrick, Willis McGahee and Julius Jones to go above and beyond what they do and hope Edgerrin James underperforms. JC's Evil Empire (9-4-0) vs. Cooney Quest (4-9-0) The Evil Empire are not making things easy for themselves by having an Out for the seaon Brain Westbrook playing especially with Thomlinson hurting and Brad Johnson throwing all over the weak St. Louis defense. Tomahawks (9-4-0) vs. Tolman (5-8-0) Well at least we'll get a battle of the Manning brothers here if not in the Superbowl. Clinton Portis against the less than imposing Arizona Cardinals defense will be the deciding factor. Sigmakittens (4-9-0) vs. Pelans Bobcats (4-9-0) I doubt the the Bobcats will repeat last weeks 188+ point explosion but they did put everyone on notice that their roster is capable of scoring big points. The kitties who made a comback but have since collapsed have a suspended Eric Moulds taking up a roster spot thus weakening their chances. Feisty Klowns (6-7-0) vs. Dogs in the Bathtub (2-11-0) The Klowns hold very faint playoff hopes. For them to get in they need to have a record breaking week to get in. Doing without Erron Kinney does not help them at all. WBI-461 (9-4-0 vs. Stevie's Scapegoats (7-6-0) The Scapegoats have the advnatage due to their recivng duo of Marvin Harrison and Chad Johnson. Matt Jones is an absolute wildcard. Boldin could be big for WBI-461 but Koren Robinson is not reliable. Mechanicatz (4-9-0) vs. Wst Coast Style (4-9-0) Is this the week the Mechanicatz end their brutal slide? If Drew Bledsoe can get out of his slump yes. If not then they will lose simple as that. wst Coast Style isn't exactly packing heat either. Last edited by Koko Ed : 10-12-2005 at 23:23. |

The Monkey's may not get much from BJ Sams or Jeff Garcia but Corey Dillon could do some damage. Rhode Island Voltaic (10-3) vs.IwillCrushYou (6-6-1) WHat do they say: Paybak is a b? Well revenge is a MF and you can bet IWillCrushYou wants revenge and IWill CrushYou is a very real threat with their trio of backs who could destroy the Voltaic. Nor Cal Crushers (11-2) vs. Your Ad Here (8-5) So long as the Crushers have Thomlinson they are tough to beat. Cadillac Williams isn't the same back he was at the start of the season but he is more than enough for Your Ad Here who only has Mewelde Moore and a very hurt Steve McNair. The Tacoites (8-5) vs. Akshar Did It (6-6-1) Gary Jones could be the sword that slays the dragon known as the Indianapolis Colts. That's just one weapon the Tacoites have in their arsenal. Chad Johnson is another and Tom Brady. Akshar has T.J. Houshmandzadeh who can be up and down, Laveranues Coles who has been a big disappiontement this year and Tab Perry who may be something like a fourth or fifth optiono the Bengals. Stevies Scapegoats (5-7-1) vs. Jc's Evil Empire (6-7) The Evil Empire requires Drew Bledsoe to break out of his slump and Ronnie Brown and Steve Jackson to produce hearty numbers to get into the playoffs. Brad Johnson is the Scapegoats best bet and if he doesn't come through they are basically dead in the water. QC Elite (2-11) vs. Feisty Klowns (7-6) The Klowns have Carson Palmer. The Elite have the benched Trent Dilfer. That should let you know the direction this matchup is going. sigmakittens (5-8) vs. Pelan's Bobcats (3-10) This one is a pretty tight matchup but the Bobcats have the dynamic Shaun ALexander who is a difference maker and is capable of huge numbers any week. The kitteis really don't have anyone like that. hurricanes (6-6-1) vs. west coast style (6-7) For two teams on the cusp of a playoff birth both are sporting quite weak lineups and hardly look like playoff worthy teams. The canes do have a quarterback. The ever growing JP Losman whilt wst Coast Style has the injured Byron Leftwich. To add insult to injury they also have the suspended Eric Moulds to make things even harder on them. Cooney Quest (6-7) vs. Dunedain (5-8) The Quest are also on the cusp of a plaoff birth but also sport a very weak lineup and certainly don't look very playodd worthy. Dunedain has Drew Brees and Tiki Barber and they could be more than enough to destroy the Quest. Team THRUST (8-5) vs. FIRSTforce (10-3) This one is a toughie. Team THRUST has Eli Manning who is far better than Kyle Boller but RUdi Johnson and Mike Anderson are definately more capable than Ricky Willaims. This one could go either way. |

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football
IwillCrushYou (6-6-1) d. Rhode Island Voltaic (10-3)
95-61 In a game of pivotal proportions for IWCY’s playoff hopes, IWCY played as if they were already in the playoffs. While Rhode Island had a good game led by Peyton Manning’s and newly acquired Lofa Tatupu’s double 13’s (and The Bus’s 17 form the bench, GRR!), their offense and defense were only decent. And of course, they were up against the on-a-roll IWCY, who played a great game. “IwillCrushYou is a very real threat with their trio of backs who could destroy the Voltaic.” Well that’s putting it lightly. Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis, and Domanick Davis combined for 51 (26, 11, & 14, respectively). Hasselbeck added 17, and Detroit (wait, did I just say Detroit???) contributed 13. IWCY is able to all but guarantee themselves a playoff birth. Coco's Monkeys (4-9) d. Koko's X-Cats (5-6-2) 65-29 With IWCY winning, the X-Cats would need a very impressive win to keep alive. Unfortunately for them, the Monkeys got that very impressive win. A respectable 25 on defense got the ball rolling, and Dillon (12) and Kennison (10) added the bigger numbers they needed. The X-Cats best score was an 8 by Philadelphia (which wouldn’t be so bad if there was some actual support). The Monkeys send the X-Cats home to Rochester for the postseason. Nor Cal Crushers (11-2) d. Your Ad Here (8-5) 75-64 Now this is the game I’d expect to see of two teams already in the playoffs. It came down to who had more people with higher scores. YAH’s came from Tennessee’s 17, Graham’s 13, and Wilson’s 11. Nor Cal had the Cadillac’s 17, McGee and his 12, Robinson’s 11, and Peterson’s 10. The rest of the game was pretty even, so with one higher score, Nor Cal takes this one, and the #1 seed. The Tacoites (8-5) d. Akshar Did It (6-6-1) 63-32 ADI was another team who could help themselves to a playoff spot with a win (and a loss from the Feisty Klowns). But when your QB and DEF both score -3, you know you’re not going to have much of a chance. Houshmandzadeh’s 8 was their only good score. For the Tacoites, both Brady and Feeley rebounded with 15s, and Winfield added a 14. ADI gets knocked out of the playoffs with its performance. Jc's Evil Empire (6-7) d. Stevies Scapegoats (5-7-1) 66-36 The Empire was another team adversely affected by IWCY’s win. Their only hope was winning, the Klown’s losing, and making up 132 points. So this game was really just for fun. And what a fun one it was if you’re the Empire. 17 from both Washington and Bledsoe, 14 from Vanderjagt, and 10 from Danny Clark gave the Empire a nice lead. The Scapegoats with just Atlanta’s 11 couldn’t keep up. But despite this pretty win, the Empire is still out of the postseason. Feisty Klowns (7-6) d. QC Elite (2-11) 47-46 It was plain and simple for the Klowns: win and in. So why did they have to make it so complicated against the Elite? The Elite had a pair of 9s on their defense plus 14 from Josh Brown. The Klowns were really only lucky to have their 17 from Minnesota. Their next best score would be a 7 from Edgerrin James. They should have lost, but they didn’t, getting into the playoffs in the process. Pelan's Bobcats (3-10) d. sigmakittens (5-8) 67-50 For a game with both teams long ago mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, this was a pretty good one. The Pelancats led out with Gate’s 13, followed up by Alexander’s 12, and supported by 10 each from Wilkins and Reed. The Kitties had the high score of the match with Terry Glenn’s 18, and even got some help from Seattle’s 13. But their defense lacked, and their offense was only decent. The Bobcats would take their season closer due to all that. west coast style (6-7) d. hurricanes (6-6-1) 53-40 With both IWCY and the Klowns winning, WCS was out and the Canes would have to win with 187 points. Neither happened. In fact, the only thing that happened for the Canes was Chris Chambers’s 18, and that was matched by WCS’s Harrison. But what really made WCS’s victory possible was that they had support from the rest of the team. Jurevicius had 9, Andra Davis added 8, and Hanson tallied 7. Sadly, both teams were heading home after this one. Dunedain (5-8) d. Cooney Quest (6-7) 84-30 The Quest were ended by IWCY and the Klowns already winning, so this game just didn’t matter. Probably better too, because with their best score being Longwell’s 7, they were leaving the door wide open. And Dunedain marched their army through. “Dunedain has Drew Brees and Tiki Barber, and they could be more than enough to destroy the Quest.” They would’ve been with a combined 29. But let’s not turn away from Jimmy Smith’s 12, Zach Thomas’s 13, and Thomas Jones’s 10; they made Dunedain look good, and the Quest not so good. Team THRUST (8-5) d. FIRSTforce (10-3) 45-38 I kinda expected a little more oomph from this second game with two teams in the playoffs. The big difference here was the QB spot. The younger Manning gave THRUST a 9 in his win against Philly. Force had Marques Tuiasosopo (apparently, Kerry Collins’s backup) score a less than stellar -3. Lucky for both teams, this game didn’t matter, and I have a feeling they’ll both be scoring higher in the playoffs. Code:

Second Half Awards/Analysis
Best of the best, second half.
I'll start off by showing what really happened in the past 7 games. This should help answer the question of why certain teams are in the playoffs, and why certain teams aren't. Though if anybody can explain to me how YAH is in the playoffs, it'd be appreciated .Code:
Rank Team W-L-T Pct. Pts. FinRank 1. Nor Cal Crushers 6-1-0 .857 478 1 2. The Tacoites 6-1-0 .857 375 5 3. Rhode Island Voltaic 5-2-0 .714 406 3 4. Cooney Quest 2-5-0 .286 265 15 20. QC Elite 1-6-0 .143 297 20 Carson Palmer (Feisty Klowns) The possible MVP candidate did even better than the first half, and he did it with a bye too. Honorable Mention: Peyton Manning He had a slow first half (by Manning standards, anyway), but came back strong, leading Rhode Island's 5-2 second half. Best Running Game Larry Johnson & Clinton Portis (IwillCrushYou) Consider the fact that these guys were on the outside looking in the first half. Now, IWCY is in the playoffs thanks to high scoring from these two. Honorable Mention: LaDanian Tomlinson, Brian Westbrook, & Carnell Williams Nor Cal is number one right now. But these guys had less of an impact this time around (heck, Westbrook is gone). Still, when together, these three were nasty. Best Receiving Game Marvin Harrison & Joe Jurevicius (west coast style) They did a heck of a lot better than the first half, just missing out of the playoffs. Yeah, the rest of the team had its problems (including losing T.O.), but when WCS needed to be carried, those two were there. Honorable Mention: Chris Chambers & Lee Evans The Hurricanes' receivers were nigh unheard of the first half when they were 2-5. But these two led the Canes to a 4-2-1 second half, again, just missing the playoffs. Most Valuable Kicker Neil Rackers (FIRSTforce) He's only missed once, and that was a longer one. The Cardinals may inhale audibly, but Rackers isn't the cause. Honorable Mention: Mike Vanderjagt Hey, Indy actually used their offense in the second half! Vanderjagt was a prime benefactor of that with PATs, as well as the Empire, despite just missing the playoffs. Most Productive Offense Nor Cal Crushers Well DUH! The appropriately named Crushers had Tomlinson, Westbrook, the Cadillac, Plummer, Porter, Robinson, and Peterson. The first three were great, the other four were better than decent. And they're in first. What more can you ask for? Honorable Mention: Pelan's Bobcats You've got to be kididng me? The Pelancats? Hear me out. The Bobcats may have been the first team eliminated, but that was becasue they were a very late bloomer. They had two excellent players in Shaun Alexander and Antonio Gates. McCardell and Green picked it up in the second half. Even Wilkins contributed worthwhile pointage. Their downfalls came from the gaps due to injuries and a sub-par defense, but if that offense was at full strength in the first half, I imagine there would've been a different outcome. Most Dominating Defense Stevies Scapegoats Hey, they won half a game more than the first half! Okay, not that exciting. But it's still very difficult to go against the defense of the Scapegoats. They chopped their defensive personnel down by one, but they still had Demorrio Williams, Antonio Pierce, and DeAngelo Hall adding big points. On the team side of things, they had Denver and Atlanta, two very competant defenses. Now if only they had an offense... Honorable Mention: TeamTHRUST Vilma, Fletcher, and June have been racking up points for them all season long. This would've probably won the top prize if they had stuck with Minnesota as their DEF. Wait, this seems oddly familiar... It's at this time (you know, while I'm copying the defensive awards from my midseason reviews ) that I now notice that I said Rhode Island had Atlanta in the first half. They actually had Tampa Bay. It's a typo. Just as good a DEF though.Playoff Picture IWCY came back from 17th place in the course of a four-game winning streak to make the #8 spot. But they have yet to face Nor Cal. Would that have cost them their playoff spot had they played? Thrust and Tacoites have yet to face either. This should be the most even match on the planet, but Thrust had a total of 90 more fantasy points over the season. Rhode Island and the misspelled Klowns played an excellent game in Week IX, with Rhode Island taking it by 1, and even that was after Yahoo corrected a scoring mistake. This could be the greatest matchup of the year if both teams play the way they've been playing. And finally, YAH started their season around Week XI, and even then, they lost to FIRSTforce by 10. Is YAH the odd man out with the low fantasy score? Keep in mind that absolutely nothing that happened in the regular season matters now. For the eight teams fighting for the Kamen Bowl, it's a clean slate. So IWCY vs. YAH is very possible in the finals. But it's not a question of what can be, it's a question of what happens. And anything can happen. I'll see you next week for the Round I postgame. Last edited by EddieMcD : 16-12-2005 at 12:32. |
