Re: activation code

I presume that Inventor 10's activation is like that of previous versions. If so, you must receive the activation code from Autodesk via your team's main contact in TIMS.

This thread may be appropriate.

Re: activation code

I posted this message under the 3DS Max forum also. I had a horrible time trying to get Inventor Pro and 3DS Max installed on our computers at the school. Since we have very few computers that are capable of running this software, we use laptops which are not connected to the school's server. Now there may be a way to still use the network license that we have been given, but I was unable to successfullly accomplish this. Good luck to all of you that want to try.

After multiple installs and uninstalls and multiple conversations with Autodesk where I was getting conflicting information, I have found that the licenses may be switched to standalone. This is true for 3DS Max and Inventor. Just follow these steps...

1.) Install the software as standalone.
2.) Go through the activation process and write down the request code.
3.) Call 800-225-1327 to have the license switched to standalone.
4.) They will give you your activation code via email or by phone.

From what I understand, you must follow this process for each computer that you install the software. The FIRST point of contact at Autodesk is Kelly Stanphill (Kelly.Stanphill@autodesk.com). I have pasted the email that she sent to me. Good luck!

Re: activation code

As I remember, the serial number is on the back of the Inventor case. It's on a sticker. And as far as the standalone licensing goes, I understand that you need to only do it once, for the Inventor software at least. They covert all the license to standalone. I simply called, stayed on the line for awhile, had my software registered and converted for me, all on the phone. Very nice people at autodesk, even the ones who don't know exactly what your talking about. Thank you again autodesk!

Re: activation code

I can confirm their helpfulness. We had the licenses converted to standalone for Inventor last weekend. The phone call took maybe 5 minutes.

I'm from Brazil, so I can't make 1-800 calls , isn't there any regular phone number I can call to get this support to change the serial from Network to Standalone?

thanks

Try again, I called once and accidentally stepped on the telephone cable, but the woman I had been talking to knew what I was talking about. The second time the (other) woman knew as well.

Re: activation code

Wow, they told me to call the resale people. I tried to explain the situation to her but I suppose since they close at 8:00pm and I called at 7:56 she didn't want to work overtime on this grueling 5 minute process. That 1 minute could of meant a long wait in the parking lot.
